Distracted onto how many of those thousands of deaths are already down to things Cummings has/hasn't done. (How much of any policy was not his?)Yep, compared to things the Govt have/haven't done that have lead to 1000's of deaths Cummings going up the A1 is a story worthy of heat magazine. It is pathetic how easily we are distracted.
I wish I could say I did pal. but I don't. The most serious health crisis possibly since the Spanish Flu with its enormous implications for myself due to the meds I take means I needed the man to step up and be a PM and I really wanted him too because I needed him too, but he has been an abject failure and his performance has been pitiful. All he has done has reinforced my fears about him and his support of Cummings with all the implications his behaviour has for people like myself has just angered me.Go on, admit it, you get a little bit of pleasure out of saying I told you so. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t ;-)

It never went away on this particular thread.I’m starting to think it’s time to revive ‘****’. Feels like the right time.
People are always nicking my material ffs!It never went away on this particular thread.

I like you.People are always nicking my material ffs!
I'm honestly not sure they are. The real story that actually could put tremendous pressure on the pm and govt is around the issue of death rates, the late wishy washy lockdown, testing /tracking, and gaping holes in the 'plan' to return to normal. All these have been pushed off the news agenda by a sort of cross between Karl pilkington and Oswald Moseley driving up the A1. The shit state of the A1 is probably a more important story.
Douglas Home would have been PM and a Lord for longer if a Scottish Tory MP hadn't conveniently died and left a vacant seat for him. Between disclaiming his peerage and winning the election the Prime Minister was not a member of either the Lords or the Commons.Order! Order! He revoked his peerage so wasn't a Lord. I stand by my claim that a member of the Lords can't be a PM. Apologies for reverse-pedantry!! What I think we both agree is that you can be a Lord, revoke, and be PM, you can't stay being a Lord and be PM. Lock the doors!
The twat spent the whole brexit campaign 'distracting' the country to the point where millions believed him and voted accordingly.Yep, compared to things the Govt have/haven't done that have lead to 1000's of deaths Cummings going up the A1 is a story worthy of heat magazine. Johnson should be toast. Given that the next election is years away can the Tory party replace him with someone else if they so wished?
I cannot begin to think how those that have lost family and friends and have been unable to visit in hospital and attend funerals must feel about this. Never mind those that have been in a similar situation to Cummings and have abided by the guidelines. I still believe he will be gone by Wednesday only because if he stays longer he will drag Johnson more and more into this. This is a far bigger story than some dude breaking lockdown and travelling up the A1. Its really about this governments real relationship with the rest of the nation. Can you not see it?
This Cummings story has traction because the whole is far greater than the sum of its insignificant parts, it speaks to the sacrifices all of us (almost all of us) have had to make, some far greater than others. The story won't die down because it chimes with five things emerging from this crisis.
1. We're indignant, there is one rule for our rulers and one for us.
2. We're appalled, our rulers are liars.
3. We're angry, we've been taken for mugs, all of us.
4. We're weary, our rulers are incompetent, they don't know what they're doing.
5. We're apprehensive, our rulers are indifferent to our plight, they've fucked us over, they don't have our best interests at heart now and in to the future.

Agree with this, but don't think he will be gone by Wednesday myself. The cabinet must've known about his actions at the time, so to sack him now implicates all of them.I cannot begin to think how those that have lost family and friends and have been unable to visit in hospital and attend funerals must feel about this. Toast. Boris won't be far behind either as his rivals and suitors for the top job won't miss out on an opportunity like this.
There was an article in the Sunday Times yesterday that said the 22 days of delay at the start of all this has led to 1million more people getting infected than necessary.Distracted onto how many of those thousands of deaths are already down to things Cummings has/hasn't done.
