Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Id have a modicum of respect for your opinion if you applied it evenly across all politicians Bob.

You don't....I don't!

Jekyll and Hyde poster who one minute wants them to toughen up and by them i mean politicians you don't like being abused and the next, in full on faux outrage mode because one of your has been called a name.

"Its 2020 not 1920"

Do kindly fuck off lol ;-)

So that's a ’no’ on the ’giving examples to back up your claim’ then? No problem.

Read the thread dear boy.

You do read threads dont you?

Page 1 video to which your girl said the following...

“I got your back,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who created a stir by telling supporters on Thursday that “we’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf—–,” referring to the president.

I could go on as to the double standards if you would like?

Speaking of “fucking bitches”, the hair-trigger windmill-tilters on this thread meet the definition pretty well.

She’s a freshman politician who’s doing a job for her constituents who, for whatever reason possibly related to her gender, age or ethnicity, has struck a chord with a wider audience and is exploiting it just as any savvy self-promoter would do. “Hype” as one of my heroes Robert Christgau would say “is just a bad word for someone else’s publicity.”

There’s a near 100-page thread about an American congressperson on some English football chat board. She’d smile quite broadly if she knew that.

Of COURSE she’s going to make a big deal out of this. If you can’t understand why, it explains why you aren’t in politics.

Said this on Page 15 of this thread. Her ability to generate attention is extraordinary.

To put it in some context Ocasio-Cortez has been a Congresswoman for a mere 6 days and already has a 15 page thread on a UK based football forum so she clearly has a knack for capturing attention.

Probably time to say she is a shrewd political operator then who knows the game and plays it well rather than treating her like she is the next Joan of Arc.

Examples? This thread is literally full of them and the same knights in shining armour being outraged on her behalf.

She should toughen the fuck up if her career is in American politics.

Not one single republican is going to giver her an easy ride in the same way no fucker gets one over there.

Why should she have to "toughen up"? Are unjustified personal attacks okay anywhere in this world? Just because traditionally politics has been a male preserve (with the odd exception) doesn't mean that they all have to be cold, heartless bastards to operate there. As long as someone is doing their job in a professional manner they should be allowed to get on with it regardless of race, creed or gender.

Do you have any integrity? I exaggerated to make my point. You still said 99% of BAME people (at the bottom) are doing fine. That the privileged 1% are mostly white men because they don’t give birth and wealth is inherited. That there are zero serious race issues in the work place and there hasn’t been for decades.

They are bullshit statements made with no factual evidence. When asked to backup your claims you dodged it by playing the victim and making out people knowingly “misunderstand” you.

I’m not responding to you any more because like Bob said you take no responsibility for what you post and any intelligent argument that disagrees with your rhetoric is dismissed as left wing “nonsense”. It’s boring.

I'm of the same opinion. Replying to what I term a Mary-Mary poster (because of their contrariness approach to all things) is a pointless exercise.

American politics is the sole preserve of cold, heartless bastards.

Ours is busy catching it up at a fair rate of knots.

Pleas for a kinder, fairer and more polite politics have fallen on deaf ears and will continue to imo.

Joyous.

Pretend to be offended by name calling and then just launch yourself right in doing the same.

Another gift that keeps on giving.

As it happens I did and I think it’s fair comment to pick up on her backing her fellow rep when using the term ‘motherfucker’. Cheapening the discourse works both ways even if the target does it on a daily basis.

Some comments about AOC mere days after being elected.

She’s as thick as whale omelette. Dumb millennial.

She’s a fruitcake and comes out with lots of utopian bullshit with no way of backing it up, seems to like the phrase “just pay for it”

She's a fraud.

Yet another rich girl playing street full of a bunch of pie in the sky ideas. Media has a bit of a thing for her because she's young and weirdly photogenic in a psycho type of way.

She'll amount to nothing of note because she doesn't seem to understand how politics actually functions and instead seems to believe it functions like it does in the movies, and those people never get anywhere.

Fraud.

A populist princess but will continue to do well in a society geared increasingly towards style over substance.

In that respect, she is very similar to Trump (but with better hair)

Assuaging her middle-class guilt, allied with a disbelief she actually has the platform.

The last two are priceless, having caught some of the question in open sessions she certainly has substance. And again all these statements made within days of being elected. Instant judgements, all dismissive.
