No, Arsenal would gladly sell to a foreign club for cheaper before us. It reduces fan backlash, it means they don't have to play against him, he's not competing against them in 3 competitions, they can justify it as Bayern being a mega club.

But it's all irrelevant if Sanchez says he doesn't want to go to Germany.

But they sold van persie to the rags, so what's the difference?

There this literally no way that Pep or City will sell Kun this summer unless he specifically tells the club he wants to. And he won't because he's secretly fallen in love with Pep and thinks he's played the best football of his career in the last few months (IMO).

If I was Agüero I would be thinking that Pep is the one manager in the world who could take me to the next level. From being seen as the best in the Premier League to getting recognition as one of the very best players in the world. Ballon d'Or podiums etc.

Not to mention the most likely coach to deliver a hatful of trophies.

But we just end up buying someone equally as good (hopefully) and they end up playing and competing against him, while at the same time having 10 million less to replace him with. That would be a rather emotive decision, not a logical, business decision.

If they had any other option than to sell him to a domestic rival they would have.

That sale went down incredibly badly as well and will only have reinforced their desire to sell abroad if at all possible.

But again, the player has all the power.

What makes you think football isn't full of emotive decisions?

During the football leaks, it was revealed that when Barcelona or Real Madrid sell a player, they put a clause in with a massive penalty if the players new club sell him back to Real Madrid/Barcelona respectively. They don't rate the player they're selling, but they sure as hell don't want him ending up on the other side.

Levy reported rejected a bigger United offer for Bale because he wanted Bale out of the country, not rubbing Spurs face in it by being the best player in the league for years at another club.

Football is full of emotive decisions.

Exactly.

The one element no one can counter for is what is going on in Sanchez' head, obviously Bayern are a huge club but does he want to play in their average league? Is Sanchez infatuated with playing in the Prem, is he desperate to win the Prem?

We have enough options going forward, no need to spend silly money on a footballer who would be turning 30 very soon.
We don't score enough. Kun was fit for much of the season. I think we need more options. He's a very good player who can play across the front. Ideal for us.

He wants to play for us, Pep wants him to play for us, we have the wages, he's versatile, he's a Pep subscriber, we will pay the fee, he will sign, he's Prem savvy, just a matter of how long the panto plays out....IMO

Two scenarios: 1) Alexis signs and becomes a major reason why we win the league next season but Sterling, Jesus (to a lesser extent) and Sane (also to a lesser extent) get reduced game time than they normally would even though they still play a lot of games because we went far in all 4 competitions

2) Sanchez doesn't sign up and we lost out of the premiership title by 2 points to Chelsea but the above mentioned players get more game time

Question: Which of the scenarios above would you prefer to happen?

I'm not for a moment saying we cannot win the EPL with our current crop of attackers. I think we can if we sort key defensive positions but I'm just trying to get a sense of your values.

Simply put if you had to make a choice between getting our young players to play all the time when fit or putting us in the best position to win the EPL by signing a soon to be 30 (as you say) premiership proven elite star, which would you go for if the two options were mutually exclusive?

Let me add this: if we blink an eye with respect to Sanchez, I bet you, utd will gazump us in signing the guy especially now that they've lost out on their dream summer signing (lol). He's the only player in the EPL that I can place at per with Eden Hazard. I think Hazard is the better player btw but its quite close. My opinion of course but I know what I am saying.

Yep.

You could even flip it and say he's not long turned 28 :-)

Bottom line is,he's one of the very best in our league,he'd be a genuine asset and probably even a game changer.

Totally agree; when the rags got RvP, he single handedly won them the league. Sanchez is a another player who can have the same effect...look at FA cup

Sanchez is good enough that you would make space for him, it would be probably hardest on Sterling, but as you say he'd still get plenty of games in other comps as cover, off the bench etc plus he'd learn a lot and he's still young so you could look at it positively as well. BUT if we did go for Sanchez, then no more attacking purchases please!

Yes I promise. No more attacking purchases till I'm tempted again. Lol

Don't think I've been this excited about a transfer window for around 5 years. This could be a sensational signing. Imagine how good our squad could be in 2 months' time.
