Alexis Sanchez

The same argument applied last summer, only with a higher amount of money, and there Arsenal did not sell. I think the only logical thing would be for them to refuse again actually. If they were prepared to reject 60 million in summer, why should they not be prepared to reject less money now?
I hope I am wrong. I really would like Sanchez to join City.
Yup. Exactly.

You are right, I don't think the "helping us" argument is relevant here. But the "hurging them" argument is completely relevant.

If we were being logical, it would be stupid of them to sell. They are in a battle for 4th place and Europa title, keeping their best player helps them more than 25 or even 45 million ever could.

If they sell it will be because of greed and emotionality and nor logic

Why would it be stupid for Arsenal to sell Sanchez, he is not helping them at the present. They actually hooked him off against West Ham he was so poor. Selling him in January at least they get a few quid for him, get him off the payroll and make space for a replacement. Wait till the summer he walks for free and could easily go to an Arsenal rival like Liverpool or Chelsea rather than a team they cannot compete with at the present.

Even some of the fans are questioning his attitude. I think his mind is elsewhere and Wenger has no choice but to get rid.

He had a bad game. He did help them beat Spurs, a rival for 4th place.

A few quid gives them nothing. Keeping Sanchez gives then an opportunity to compete.

And the rival/non-rival thing is overblown. We are Arsenal's rival. Maybe not this season coz we've been so much better than the rest. But in general, we are a part of a top 6, who all have eyes set on attempting to win the league.

Also, there is a legitimate top 6 of which 2 will often miss out of CL. Keeping Sanchez improves their chance of not being one of those 2 again. And that's more important than a fee.

Whether he goes to Xity, Chelsea or Liverpool is irrelevant to Arsenal once he is on a boss man. Especially if they achieve their goal.

If I were Arsene, I wouldn't sell. And that would have been the correct decision. But I'm almost certain if Pep is still interested they will.

Why? Poor decision making is quite comon in the Premiership.

Pep on any move for Alexis Sanchez in January: "Good question! That's why you're here. On the pitch you know. The transfer window is in winter time so I don't know."

Fans are often even more emotional than management. So I won't put too much into their opinions.

Also, while I agree he hasn't been at his super best, and some of that may be dissapointed from not moving... I agree with Marvin that some of it also is just him slowing down after years of playing nonstop.

Aguero is also slowing down a little but his brain isn't and he's still lethal with the ball.
