If he signs for City it is because he wants to play for City, play for Pep and win the league (and potentially more).
Which he will, I am sure.

However if he signs for anyone else it is because he is happy playing for anyone.
If he is happy playing for anyone, I'm sorry but I wouldn't want that type of player coming into the dressing room.

Simple as that, which ever way it falls is the best for City.

Stop panicking!!

I would question the mentality of any player, who spends the whole summer turning down the advances of Bayern and PSG because he wants to play for City/Pep, to then end up signing for United/Liverpool.

I'm not sure. If we really aren't willing to pay £5m extra and that ends up meaning the deal doesn't go through I think he'd have a right to feel like we've fucked him over.

i disagree, if we cant hammer a deal out now he comes to us for free in the summer

Have we put in an offer?
According to this we have. And Utd have trumped it. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/11/manchester-united-alexis-sanchez-arsenal

A move to Man Utd makes some sense. He could play a deep role for them. He can't really do that at City as we already have midfield creative options. Despite all the talk about Alexis being perfect for City, it's far from obvious that he is. He does not have the basic speed to play as a wide forward now. And he isn't getting past Aguero. I think Pep sees him as back-up. He probably knows that. However does he want to play at Utd, and for a coach who could be out of a job in a few months.

If what they want really is just £5m under what we value him at then it would be ridiculous to miss out on him over £5m when we'll quite happily pay £27m for Danilo.

Well, I suspect no one on here knows the actual figures and if it were down to a few mil, I would think a compromise would be made, but we wont be mugged off.

What we paid for Danilo is totally irrelavnt as far as I see it.

Not too fussed, but I can see the rags deal happening- Wenger gets cash plus a midfielder, considering a midfielder is leaving Arsenal in this window...

hahhaha like hes going to go from arsenal to liverpool

the more this player gets linked to united and liverpool the closer i feel this is, i mean really hmmm klopp or pep? mourinho or pep?

he has stated a 100 times he wants to play for pep again

Totally agree but Liverpool would be his best 2nd choice and if they start flashing the cash arsenal will keep upping the price and delaying the whole process. Sanchez wants out now not in the summer. If arsenal don’t sell to us he will have no choice but to go to Liverpool, he’s not staying at arsenal beyond January.

Such a complex situation for all parties and arsenal are fxxx wits. Just surprised we haven’t wrapped this up already. Clearly something is holding it all up.

The transfer fee is largely irrelevant. It only comes into play if Sanchez is willing to go somewhere other than City. Liverpool could offer the £140m that they have received for Coutinho and yes, Arsenal would accept in an instant. Means nothing though if Sanchez responds with "I am only going to City". Arsenal will then be forced to accept our bid, whatever that may be or hold on to him and lose him for nothing in the summer.
Agreed.
