I think sanchez to city in January is totally dependant on arsenals position at the time ,no chance of top 4 they will sell.

I agree, because qualifying to Champions league could be worth more than 50 million Pound, and they have bigger chance to qualify with Sanchez than without him.

So what happens come January and Arsenal put Sanchez up for sale, to the highest bidder excluding us or any of our sister clubs?

Sanchez (and his agent) hold all the cards in January. They can negotiate with teams outside of England to join on a free transfer in the summer. They can refuse all moves and sit tight till the summer. Arsenal can only sell Sanchez at Christmas if he agrees and given he's close to a free transfer that's pretty unlikely. Wenger has fucked up and he's trying to put a brace face on it but Arsenal are in disarray and have their senior players half out of the door. I've no doubt City will enquire about Sanchez at Christmas but it'll be a tough deal to do and might be better to wait until summer when Sanchez can get his hands on Arenals share of the cash.

We put an offer in and wait and see. If they refuse to sell to us not a lot they can do, other than let him go for free in the Summer.

Cheers that makes sense.

Wenger this morning reported as saying FFP should be scrapped!

Now that Arsenal have screwed themselves and can't catch up without a massive investment his principles have changed. Hypocrite.

Wenger's/Arsenals more pissed off their little FFP plan didn't work out. They thought they could stay competitive for top 4 without being over ambitious, enough to line their board members pockets without having to spend. Wenger's been the perfect manager for them in that regard. Well, they're fucked now. To be a fly on the wall at Tarquin towers now as they attempt to draw up a plan B.

The transfer keeps getting even more bizarre. I can't say for sure if your post makes total sense, little sense, or none regarding this one :-) Who knows what the hell is going to happen and what the hell AS, wenger, or kronke will do. That's not even with Typical City in the equation either. It would surprise me at all if we dropped 30-50 on him!
Agreed. Too complex to predict, mostly regarding Arsenal's stance though.

1) How well will AS play and how shit will arsenal be come January?
2) I agree that it'd be foolish to sell for 20m. It's going to be up to him to get this on over the line. Why would he though if those rumors of a massive signing on fee in 6 months time?
3) Regarding the WC, the nerds have them at 28% to qualify. They are in a decent spot, considering that Ecudor is basically out of it and brazil qualified easily. It'll be interesting to see play out.
2) Not foolish, if Sanchez has no value for them by then due to injuries or miserable performances. IF he is valuable, they'll keep him. That's all I was saying. If he tries to be valuable, he won't be allowed to leave to City in January.

I'm guessing you think he stays the full season?
No. I think Alexis atm isn't in a good mental and physical shape. I think he wants out, to City.
I think he won't do Wenger a favour by great performances.
When he is useless for Arsenal, they finally should take the reduced money offered
and as well save his loyalty bonuses due in summer (if that's a factor at all).

I also think City and Pep still want him, unchanged.
It's only about Arsenal and Wenger.

So again, if Alexis wants to leave in January he has to work hard to be useless for Arsenal.

I dont see him doing that and, tbh, I wouldn't want him to - he is a professional sportsman

Bidding earlier wouldn't have made Arsenal act any quicker as they are just plain incompetent, and their " £92 million bid for Lemar " looks as unlikely as ever, and a smokescreen to appease their supporters , whilst keeping firmly hold of their money.

Just another in the long catalogue of Arsenal fuck ups, including giving Wenger another contact imo.

Giving wenger another contract was the best thing the arsenal board did, for other teams.

There are only two ways Arsenal can save face with this mess. They need to get Sanchez to sign a new one year deal on the agreement they will sell him if he does next Summer. Then they can get highest bid then or in January if a bid comes in above the minimum they agree with Sanchez they will accept.

Or he becomes the great player he can be, gets Arsenal firing and he is willing to push for CL with a deal that if they do he will sign a new contract then.

City will not get him next Summer on a free. Not going to happen. Arsenal will want money if he refuses to sign a new deal or agree to any arrangement behind the scenes.

So they will do a deal with any foreign club offering money in January which they will try to delay to Summer but accept at a pinch if they will not wait.

The only way City will sign Sanchez is if he does not get it together between now and January and City offer big. I said before the window closed we will not get him for less than £40 million in January. I stand by that. And I am not convinced they will sell at that if they get half that from, say, PSG or Bayern for an advance deal for June.

Getting £20 million and him gone to a foreign team will be a victory for Wegner in his current predicament.

To keep him with a PL rival City will need to offer not a lot less than they were willing to this Summer.

So, you think he doesn't have any say in where he ends up?

They tried selling to foreign clubs in the summer but he only wanted us, I'd expect the same in January. He will either come to us for about £20-25 mill or go for free in summer. Which it is probably depends on how he plays up until Christmas and whether Arsenal think its worth £25 mill to hold onto him for the last 4 months.

Don't agree.

Only two possible ways this is ending

1. Arse sell to city in Jan at a cut price of 20mil or so
2. Arse hold onto him for the season but convince Sanchez to perform by incentivising his pay.... x amount per goal, x amount for a win, x amount if Arse make top 4.

Option 2 is the most likely since they can justifiably say the 'gamble' paid off and CL qualification is worth the £60M loss on Sanchez as he waves bye bye in the summer for fuck all

Just my 2p

any foreign club can agree a deal with sanchez in January to move for free at the end of his contract, so your scenario is fantasy

We will see I guess. I will still not be surprised to see him sign a new deal.

As for him having a say in where he goes. Yes, of course. But it did not make a difference this Summer and Wenger will have to try to look as if he knew what he was doing.

To sell to City for £20 million will seem like genius by City and idiocy by Wenger so hard to see why he would be okay with that.
