They have not pulled out from signing him IF he agrees to what he previously agreed to and not grab more money.

Manchester City have decided not to pursue their interest in signing Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

The club have decided the cost of pursuing the 29-year-old would be prohibitively expensive.

Manager Pep Guardiola, the club's owner Khaldoon al Mubarak and other senior officials are all in agreement.

It is understood the wages being demanded by Sanchez would have put him ahead of all City's star men, something the club decided they would not do.

To be fair City are only maintaining the consistent approach they have always taken with greedy agents. I really believe it is a point of principle for the owners. They will not deal with Joorabchian the snake, Mendes, Raiola, and now the agent of Sanchez is being snubbed. I am not saying Sanchez is not a great player (he's just like Tevez for me) but surely City's policy will be correct in the long-term. We have a long-term vision and have to stick to it. We also froze out Sancho for the same reasons. It is a clear message to the football world we are not going to be taken for fools.

The top players at our club after winning us trophies could likely demand similar wages. They're also all well aware that we can't pretend to be destitute given who our owner is.

They dont. They end interest in the deal demanded but say he made clear he really, really wants City so we leave the offer we made there and said - okay, give up the extra elsewhere and come to us.

why would we meltdown over who Arsenal sign up, I personally don't give a fuck. Don't give too much of a fuck about not getting Sanchez either if I'm honest. The position we are in as a club, we shouldn't be giving too much of a fuck about anything. We should be on the beach lapping it up.

I agree entirely it's not very often a class player becomes available but I'm sure there will be others planned for the summer
