I truly believe the standards Manchester city are setting will never get any better in a 38 game season
100 to mid 90 points is now the level you need to compete with us, it's now coming down to losing 1 to 2 games or else you're finishing 2nd it's that simple,

the 100 points city got is what the rest of the top teams have to aim for at the start of the season

I absolutely agree on the way that the points total now required to win the title has dramatically changed over the last few years but number of games lost is less of a factor in determining who's finishing second than number of games with dropped points. In 2018-19, the dippers only lost one game (against us) but we were champions despite losing four times as they had so many draws.
The team with the fewest defeats has failed to win the league more times more times than people probably realise. But (in the PL era) history shows that the team with most wins is pretty much guaranteed to win the title.

And the mad fact is that 100 points should have been 105 points - rags dicked us second half of that game in April after we were 2-0 up and also we couldn't get a winner at home to Huddersfield penultimate game of the season

So I make it an average of 92 points for our 6 title wins, which is phenomenal IMO.

A few of those seasons don't do the teams justice
Two examples being us in 20/21 where in the last half dozen games we really took our foot off the gas as we were winning the league at a canter
The Arsenal invincibles, again were well ahead and in their last matches were playing not to lose. They drew 6 of their last nine

So boring, boring Arsenal again. They conceded 26 that season, the same as City and dippers this season, but both scored many more than the invincible.
