All Time Top 1100 Albums (Aerosmith - Big Ones) P265

Or just second guessing myself, it could be any major blues artist like Robert Johnson.

Highway 61 Revisited is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on August 30, 1965 by Columbia Records. Having until then recorded mostly acoustic music, Dylan used rock musicians as his backing band on every track of the album, except for the closing track, the 11-minute ballad "Desolation Row". Critics have focused on the innovative way Dylan combined driving, blues-based music with the subtlety of poetry to create songs that captured the political and cultural chaos of contemporary America. Author Michael Gray has argued that, in an important sense, the 1960s "started" with this album.

Leading with the hit song "Like a Rolling Stone", the album features songs that Dylan has continued to perform live over his long career, including "Ballad of a Thin Man" and the title track. He named the album after the major American highway which connected his birthplace of Duluth, Minnesota, to southern cities famed for their musical heritage, including St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans, and the Delta blues area of Mississippi.

Highway 61 Revisited peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Positively received on release, the album has since been described as one of Dylan's best works and among the greatest albums of all time, ranking No. 4 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".

Here we go! Review No.31 - well done @dublinblue12 for getting this straight away, indeed...Bob is back.. again! apologise but it really is the random number generator picking these! but what the heck, this is Dylan hurtling at full speed to his peak best - abandoning acoustic and bringing electric to folk.
Opening with my favourite song of all time 'Like a Rolling Stone' - A timeless iconic masterpiece - Dylan at his snarling best, lyrical best and for me, one of the most perfect rock songs in history.

You better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal
How does it feel, ah how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

His ambitious song-writing and fiery attitude continues all throughout this - love the imagery and humour for 'Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues' and 'Highway 61' , 'Tombstone Blue’s' rocks and 'Desolation Row' is a beautiful thought provoking song to finish the Album. He just makes it all so effortless.
I want to give this a perfect 10, but I still feel Dylan is finding his feet in terms of working with a full band and going electric with his follow up Album 'Blonde on Blonde' reaching his definitive 60's best. Our highest nomination yet.

This placed number 26 out of the Top 1000

9/10
