we had tickets for their end, standing behind the net, the police had a cordon around the ground and unfortunately I was pulled out and asked a series of questions, I blagged it perfectly telling them I was from Brighouse and a Bradford supporter and was allowed in. It kicked off big time after the game, one of my mates was bitten off a police dog

Complete with Yorkshire accent and flat cap?

I went with my brother and we didn't have any tickets. We knew about the police cordon and that you couldnt get near the ground without a ticket. The police were stopping cars coming off the motorway and if you didnt have a ticket you were turned back down the motorway towards Manchester. We went in suits, shirts and ties so when we got stopped at the motorway exit and outside the ground it was easy to blag our way through. Near the ground the police were arresting those selling tickets so the touts kept a low profile. Luckily we recognised a few touts and managed to buy 3 tickets for their end which we later swapped for 2 in our end.
It was a nervy game and City gave a nervy performance. I was shouting how crap Morley was for missing 2 or 3 chances when immediately he scored. At the end a pitch invasion followed. Saw lots of blues in the away end behind their net. A few scuffles but nothing much more. A good day had by all.

yeh we were stopped at the end of the motorway and there was 3 of us in the car with only 1 ticket we got through and got anothher 2 near the ground

i drove though littleborough -halifax to avoid the police parked up four of us managed to get tickets inthe city end for 35 quid each.at 19 that was a fortune.but wouldnt of missed it,still one of my greatest memories.

This was a cracking day, I'm sure we went Halifax first in some boozer which was robbed silly, didn't get to ground til near the end, think I was with Benny outside when we were surrounded by there boys, managed to jib away unscathed and into the ground and straight onto the pitch for some wild celebrations, more brawling outside all the way back to town centre and then back on train to Manchester for party time!
