Allocating Semi-Final Tickets (moving on)

Too complicated.

Just do it the same as Hamburg are doing for their home game:

1-3 days: season ticket holders only
4-5 days: City Card holders only
6-7 days: Access Card holders only

Then any left can go on open sale. The whole UEFA Loyalty points idea is a nice one, but you can't implement it right at the end of the competition. People have to be made aware right at the start of the season that that is how tickets will be allocated.

As unfair as it may be to Access Card holders who've been to all the UEFA games, season tickets and city cards must take priority; that's what they paid the extra for at the start of the season.

I see this being the best option, but I think their needs to be a minimum number of loyalty points on the Access Card Holders before they go on open sale. Possibly a minimum of 100 points. Otherwise, the Access Card Holders who go to a lot of games over the course of a season will be shunned out by those who have got access cards just for the Hamburg game.

They obviousley wanted to create an early buzz and make tickets cheap for 5 days to sell them fast. They also stated this was to "Reward our loyal fans" so on days 1-3 tickets are only on sale to fans who have attended games in the past i.e season ticket holders and those with access cards with loyalty points on them. Even at £5 I doubt that would have sold out. This would then have allowed general sale to start on Saturday. The queues then would be entertained by street performers and encouraged to visit the city store with a voucher offering 5% off the already discounted prices. Then all these kids with their dads who are going to their first ever game will already be kitted up with scarfs, shirts etc and will in a few years time have their "First City Game" experience on the walls of the stadium having been bitten by the bug..

I like that idea alot mate

I think that this has made a bit of a mockery of the whole CityCard deal. Surely, it's games like this where they should be rewarded for stumping up a bit of cash.

As a humble access card holder, I'd like to say that the £5x5 days offer has succeeded in a way no one could have envisaged (as regards filling out the stadium)but has also earned a catastrophic fail in the way that those of us, who attend 50-75% of home games, have been left without. I feel that it could've been handled differently, but that's easy to say with hindsight. Like I said I don't think anyone could've predicted yesterday. What has really stuck in the craw though, is the way the CityCard holders have been treated. After all they've paid money at the start of the season to get preferential treatment at times like this and they've just been left to fight it out amongst those for whom this will be their first game.

I'm all for filling out the stadium and bringing those fans back who have 'fallen by the wayside' but not at the expense of those who have been making an effort all season.

I hope they do similar for future matches but please could 'regulars' have a couple days grace first? - Season Card seats should rightfully be held for 5 days; during those days, the first 2 should be for CityCards to get access to non seasoncard seats, then the 2 days after same for Access cards. Followed by 1 day general. Then on the 6th day all remaining/non taken season go on general.

I've managed to get a ticket, so this isn't sour grapes, just a bit of support for the CityCard holders(of which I'm not).

/tuppence worth - for what it's worth.
