Is there any decent pubs in the area.
Most are overpriced and poor beer.
Cheapest I have been to the last 3 days was the Wayfarer £4.65 a pint.It was happy hour though.lol.
The only saving feature was drinking outside this spell of great weather.
Just paid £6.60 in some bookshop coffee house.
Scandalous.

The only old pub that I can think of round there is The Edinburgh Castle. But they won’t be charging any less than the 7 brothers types that have sprung up all over.

I’m amazed you got anything for less than a fiver to be honest.

I’m pleasantly surprised if I get any change from £7 these days.

My wee pre match pub crawl goes via piccadilly tap Diecast 7 Brothers Sureshot Cask and Track Brewing.
Not all of them every game obviously

The wayfarer on oldham st?

that isn't ancoats tbf but is only across the rd as is all the oldham street boozers and the sheaf round the back, ancoats wize you have

crown & kettle
Edinburgh Castle
Jimmys

If anyone is looking pre or post match then head out to the Holts’ pubs in Clayton and Droylsden.

Even when I was in town recently, I just jumped on the tram after shopping and went out there because it’s more preferable.

£7.20 for a pint of lager in there last week, the prices are getting ridiculous

Ancoats is an expensive area to run a business so the bars are expensive.

Crown and Kettle is probably your best bet. Excellent selection of beer at various prices.

Just take a bag of tinnies and some snacks and sit in the sun by the canal.
Once you've finished, simply add a brick or two to the bag and hurl it in to save the inconvenience of taking it home...

The Guinness in there is very good.
