Andy Burnham - City Benefited From Significant Public Investment Linked To The Commonwealth Games

FFS!

I'm astonished she didn't name check Lou Macari's Chippy.

It really is depressing when you hear a government minister come out with predictable sound bites, spin, and guff like she has, along with a fake and cheesy smile.

What the fuck has a new 100,000 seater stadium got to do with young boys and girls playing football?

As for the reporter, could he have asked her anymore loaded and softer questions than those?

It's happening, with no serious question asked.

Sickening, isn't it, but I think you could be right. The reality is that regeneration could happen without the Rags - 000's of homes don't rely on a football stadium

When the Collar site proposal is made public, I expect Burnham to be sat next to Mubarak and a Government minister in a press conference.

City obviously gained since moving to thr COMS as it was then but in no way near what Sruffy Jim wants for his lot.

First of all the council were handed in return Maine Road for housing development and City still had a stand to build. There was also a tariff to pay the council based on a percentage from gate receipts above the Maine Road average. This was a long term arrangement and the starting figure would have been a iot lower than could be accepted due to the building of two stands at Maine Road .We were financially handcuffed through that. The surrounding area was little touched and largely vacant. The club was virtually on it's knees and we only have to look at the starting line up for the season, a window of recruitment that brought in largely veterans and unknowns. There was no benefit and we were close to bankruptcy until Sheikh Mansour bought the club. The rest is history.

Maybe Burnham's beef is that Everton were said to be negotiating with ADUG but they messed it up whilst we were a ready made alternative. Now his love affair has stretched across to the swamp not for love but for his vote figures. It won't be for football.

I've no objection to him having his opinion even if it's a red top rag one, but being in a position where his opinions can affect us all is dangerous...and expensive.

He won’t. He has hardly showed his face at any time of planning and construction of Co Op Live or the NS development.

He has completely distanced himself from City - check out his beano to Austin in the USA last week - where he exchanged a Utd shirt with the Austin Governor.

He has made sure he has no connection whatsoever to City whilst in bed with Ratcliffe and co.

It is more likely that Khaldoon doesn't want anything to do with Burnham.
