No way. I remember him after his weight loss and thought he was well on the way to good health.

I was a regular at his pub his daughter owned down here in Kent, lovely guy - used to say i couldn't come in if i wore my Hammers shirt again - he struggled alot with health and losing weight

Christ, that's no age to leave us. I'll be 59 in december, it's a sobering thought. But carrying all that excess weight around for years can't have done him any favours. Along with his alcohol consumption. 24 bottles of lager before getting up on stage. That's crazy. Ah well. Condolences to his family and friends.
