Angelino

That Hazard deal is such an insane overpay it's not even worth benchmarking against.

Yeah but that's the issue, I don't ever see us getting in a situation where we sell a player for more than they're worth.

Real Madrid needed a marquee signing that summer and paid the premium to take one of the best players in the world in his peak years.

Bayern signed a squad player coming off the back of a serious injury and could have waited a year if they had to. Not really the same situation.

But you can't say that; Sane was matching Hazard's numbers in the PL. He's 4 years younger and has tremendous marketability. I'm just not happy at the idea that we will only make 55m if Sane becomes a world beater.

You've made a mistake with Harrison. If he has a spectacular season in the PL, we only make 10m because of the option to buy for Leeds. We've essentially capped ourselves if he has a great season. We haven't made a profit on Sane yet; we have paid 46.5m for him as he triggered his addons which seems to be team related, We have only received 40.5m initially, it remains to be seen whether Sane will trigger all his addons at Bayern to make the deal a profit.

You've mentioned some good deals and some bad ones. Lopes for 10m wasn't great because his peak value was closer to 25m. Denayer and Rekik were sold too cheap; that will become evident once we see Napoli sign Denayer for far more than 5m. Iheanacho was the only deal that stood out but Leicester can probably sell him for close to 20m. Luiz' value is 20m but that was an entirely different situation with the work permit and inserted buy back clause
I haven't seen anything that says its 10m for Harrison, they all say with a view to making it permanent and if the fee is 10m then it is what is, no one else seemingly wanted him so what do you do?

How do you know we triggered all of the add-on fees for Sane?
You are aware of amortization right, so yes we have made a 'profit'.

Lopes, 'peak value'? where are you getting this from, hes done nothing but be bounced around Europe outside of one good season since he left so id say getting 10m in the door is a good move.

Denayer has turned out good but he always had talent but questionable attitude, he has turned it around and lets wait and see if he moves before we jump to any conclusions. Rekik hasn't really improved and isn't likely to go for tens of millions.

Luiz got us profit on our original price we paid, secured his work permit and allowed us flexibility to potentially purchase him for 25m which if post lockdown form is anything to go by will be a bargain. Struggling to see any real issues with players we have sold since Txiki joined in all honesty.
Odd ones such as Dzeko and Tevez are hard to count as there is a lot more than just the price involved in those deals.

I haven't counted them as they are not profits as such but we did well with getting rid of Rodwell, Javi Garcia and Nolito etc for not far off what we paid which is also pretty good going.

Sane isn't in the same league as hazard. Sane hadn't played in almost a year and had less than a year left on his contract, your valuations are miles off with Lopes etc

Most of that is down to us just not selling good players period. The only reason we sold Sane in the first place is because he made it clear that he wasn't signing a new contract and that he only wanted to go to Bayern Munich. How are you going to get a good deal in that situation? If, for whatever reason, we had decided to sell him coming off his young player of the year season we could've gotten a big number, but what would be the point of that?

Still not that weak. Roberto Carlos wasn't the best defender in the world but didn't do too badly

It's not impossible to cover for him, as Portugal showed the other night when he made 3 absolute howler decisions & they managed to rescue it, but imo I wouldn't even class him as a fullback at present, more a winger who plays deeper.

I actually think Torres has the basics to be better.

Cancelo is a quicker version of Angelino which is vital in the current set up.Torres needs a season as an attacking player in our set up before he is to be considered to be converted as a wing back/full back.
