Wondering if there is more to this than meets the eye... Seeming as though they have three players we've been linked to in recent months in Upmecano, Olmo and Werner.
Because he is not good enough! there is no point keeping player who is not up to it, regardless of options. Shit is shit. Unfortunately. We will play Cancelo there in emergency.I could understand a deal with a purchase obligation and not an option in the summer.
I could understand releasing a foreign player to bring quality CB or LB to help us immediately
But what was urgent to release an HG LB on the last day of January when Mendy can't stay fit for 3 days in a row. He was our only LB who can actually cross a ball.
People here talk about the 25 m option, what if they decided not to buy him in the summer?
You're right that the 8-0 pumped up his number, but I took that game out and recalculated and he still has a 0.30 xA per 90 mins for the other 376 mins he played, which is only just below TAA's 0.33. Still a very small sample size, but if we were as efficient at sticking the ball in the net as Liverpool, he and Cancelo might be viewed a little more positively.Like you said, the sample size makes it difficult to draw any conclusions on that. Almost half of it was driven by the Watford 8-0 from what I can tell.
Absolutely. I meant if they were playing for Liverpool. They’d produce more chances. With our finishing this season they would still be a long way back on actual assists
So maybe this highlights an issue with our scouting and recruitment?Because he is not good enough! there is no point keeping player who is not up to it, regardless of options. Shit is shit. Unfortunately. We will play Cancelo there in emergency.
Not necessarily. Cant get every signing right. Our signing record is the best in the game since 2015.So maybe this highlights an issue with our scouting and recruitment?
No, it was a no lose, he would either kick on with us or sell him at a big profit. Or alternatively we always intended to flip him for a £20 mill profit. Good deal either way.So maybe this highlights an issue with our scouting and recruitment?
WtF by what calculation? Nolito? Sandier? Mendy? Angelino? Cancelo? We bought some average and poor players who can’t cement a place and we have struggled at times to land targets. Our best players arguably remain those signed pre-PepNot necessarily. Cant get every signing right. Our signing record is the best in the game since 2015.
Why? Mendy always injured, Zinchenko been out injured and still hardly featuring and Cancelo awful at left back. I just don’t get this.
Not flipped for anything yetNo, it was a no lose, he would either kick on with us or sell him at a big profit. Or alternatively we always intended to flip him for a £20 mill profit. Good deal either way.
Great business if so, as he's, er, not very good.
Even The Door can play LB at a push.
Yet.Not flipped for anything yet
Him wanting playing time perhaps. But what was urgent to release an HG LB on the last day of January when Mendy can't stay fit for 3 days in a row.
Nolito did well till his red card then he wasn't trusted,we got our money back and the daughter some vit dWtF by what calculation? Nolito? Sandier? Mendy? Angelino? Cancelo?
