''Step up to the plate''
No, grasp the nettle, is much more acceptable than an irritating reference to Rounders in pyjamas.

''Take a rain check''
Or, ''I'd prefer not to, if you don't mind.''

Any more get right on your tits?

"Baller" or "balling" when describing something good. I hate it.

Although watered down after a few years in England, my missus is an annoying Americanism so I get it a lot.

It's worse when one of her friends visits, she regressed. A good friend of hers came for a week a few months back. She spent the next month saying "literally" altogether too many times.

I have noticed myself saying "can I get" in shops which is an Americanism. I've noticed daughter using a few which irritate me somewhat.

If aloominyum ever gets pronounced aloominum though I'm going to either.go on arampage or curl up somewhere.

''Can I get'' is one in particular that should ensure that the utterer should immediately be set upon by surrounding bystanders and beaten to death.
