Can anyone explain why the spell checker seems to be set up for American spelling...annoys me when I've obviously splelt something right only to be told it's wrong

If you're using Chrome go to chrome://settings/ and click on advanced settings at the bottom and find the 'language' option. You can add 'English UK' from there and delete the rest.
