One less Europa league spot available to them due to Birmingham's league cup victory and 3pts dropped to a club who were bottom in the league at kickoff and finished the game still in the relegation zone.

Bolton, Sunderland and Newcastle are all strong threats for the 6th place Europa league spot that will result from one of the top 5 winning the FA cup. It would be hilarious if Liverpool end up with no European football at all next season, something that would seriously hamper their rebuilding efforts in the summer.

Well, that's cheered me up! Didn't think about the impact of Birmingham's win on UEFA Cup places.

it's nice to see Liverpool lose, but are they really worse off than us?

Last year: fantastic year for our standards, horrific year for their standards. Result: both of us Europa League.

This year: us better players, them losing their best player. Result: too early to tell but smart money is on both Europa League.

liverpool only got in the europa league this season because portsmouth didn't get a uefa licence after going into administration.

will king kenny turn liverpool round before he does a runner back to the golf course again claiming health issues? he was still in his 30's last time & he's almost 60 now so don't bank on it.

I think we'll know much more about where we're going to finish tomorrow. If Chelsea can't beat the rags, it's going to be a tough, tough climb for them.

Blessing in disguise if they miss out to be honest. Does anyone really want us to be in that again next season? The players clearly dont as it makes them tired!
