There is pros and cons to any decision ever made, anywhere. People might cite their personal preferences, but these are as you say speculation. I trust the board will make the right decision for our club, I am sure, and I personally hope the plans include my preference for manager to take us forward, i.e. the one we've got.

Personally if he can improve in Europe then he will be here for a long time. The trick is can he balance both domestically and in the Champions League?
Shed some deadweight, get the wanted players in early and have a proper pre-season, who knows? Some of the 352/532 "experiments" early in the season are imho a direct result of a failed transfer window. I'd like the chance to find out if we can either way.

We thought we had the squad to cope on all fronts, but as we found out in the Champions League, we are still miles off in that competetion. The experiment with 3 at the back was probably down to us playing Napoli and seeing how effective they were. Mancini has to find a formula for us to compete in the Champions League.

Given time, I am sure he will too. He's cracked everything else. All of this IMHO just points more to Mancini wanting to win things with us, he tried to win it all when we were under prepared, but he tried and it almost paid off. It'd be folly to get rid now, the most foolish thing we could do as a club when we have a man smack bang in the middle of building a team, a team that has so far brought success and isn't yet finished.

True in one sense as we are far from the finished article and he deserves at least one more try, but if he still here and let's say by the end of next season we haven't progressed any further how long we should give him? I am just speculating here but there must be somekind of cut off point in giving him time surely? If this time next season we are still in the Champions League then I will say well done.

IMO it really all depends on circumstances. How will this season finish for a start? What will we do with transfers in summer? Who do we get drawn, and do we prioritise CL over the league? The end of next season is (for the sake of argument) a year and a half away, a lot can happen.

Ideal circumstances are we win the league and FA Cup, twat the scum and are 10 points clear by the end of April. Realistically, we are just going to have to wait and see how it pans out, same for next season. I'm not going to say what I think may happen at the end of next season when this one is only halfway through.

Whatever the results, and allowing for us to observe the performances, barring something more disastrous than the CL this year IMO Mancini should be allowed to complete the job he started.

As long as we give it our best shot from now until the end of the season I will be very happy, and everything else will be cleared up in the Summer.

Agreed, and I am sure we will do. With regards to clearing things up in summer though, I'm not sure what more that the club can do to clear things up. 5 years, despite possible clauses, isn't an offer you make to someone you have no confidence in. When Txili was hired, Mancini's comment was "I hope we can do good business with him now" or something along those lines. From what I've seen so far, I think Mancini will still be here next year, and we will have some additions made on more reasonable wages in summer. Which as you say would clear things right up ;)

I feel it would be a big mistake to replace Bobby with Pep...

He has no experience of the Prem and looks a bit fragile to me..

I hope Bobby stays for the full length of his contract...

You know what the bloody press are like - new report out now that pep's agents Josep Maria Orobitg has been spotted in germany talking to Bayern representatives !!!

The paper TZ in germany reports this along with mundodeportivo.com in Spain

Now if he was defo coming here then why the hell are his reps in Germany
