A crocodile tearjerker?

I shouldn't really but I can't help myself.
At one time I enjoyed this thread.
I used to find dropping in here for the occasional snippets of actual information about what is going on over with you lot worth it.
Educational at times. But it's become increasingly not worth engaging with.
Yeah, as in people crying about a situation they don't actually give two fucks about but pretend to.

Like a number of people on here do. They "pretend" to be upset about how disadvantaged people are in the country because it makes them "look good" amongst their peers, but in reality they don't give a shit.

All it takes is a bit of probing and the truth is revealed.

The continuing ignorance on this thread of the Brexiteers is truly staggering.

Keep it up fellas !
You!? YOU are the one saying this!?

Yeah, you only get a state pension if you pay into it. How do you do that on £650 a month, with expenses to pay for?

You starting to get the whole "we're not being paid enough to live on and the exploitation of cheap labour by European/UK businesses hasn't helped" argument, yet?
No, there are pension credits with a guaranteed minimum income. You'll be paying NI won't you.

It's just a meme, bruh. No piss taking of Greta from me. You see that's how memes work, boomer.

I don't know why you hate people from Gorton so much to keep mentioning them when I don't even live there; a nasty past experience, perhaps? But you're just doing what you always do.

Oooh the 31st January cannot come soon enough. :)
He described one person in Gorton so you decided to interpret that as everyone in Gorton, which is very Marc Francois of you. Meanwhile you then have no problem lumping all "remoaners" together.

Finally, forget the right to retire, you will also lose the right to go and look for a job in another European country. Of course, if you never wanted to excercise that right and live abroad fair enough but now you cannot.

£650pm isn't enough for NI contributions, no. It has to be £166pw.

This is how bad things are and I consider myself lucky because at least my hours are consistant week in week out and i'm still below the figure for NI contributions. Most 18-19 year olds are struggling to make 20 hours a week in many retail/service jobs and are only on £6.15. Those on the living wage are getting about 14 hours a week, shift work.

Chepa labour, wave of the future. Nobody would think anything was wrong, would they.

No he specifically aimed it as personal insult directed at me from previous discussions and keeps doing so for some reason i'm yet to work out.

So you're way off base here.

what sort of job pays £650 a month?, its significantly under minimum wage, to the level I was getting more ( hourly rate ) working in toys r us weekend work 30+ years ago. can only be a part time job I assume?

My 17 year old niece gets more than it working in a pub at weekends as well.

Yeah, 30 YEARS ago. It's nothing like that now.

It's all shift work. 20 hours pw at living wage. 5 weekers after a previously busy month are a boon, usually.

No, it's not part time, it's "full time 8-48 hours a week". Company decides how much they need you depending on how busy it is. This is all that is offered besides "zero hours".

Maybe you should have looked at moving to the continent if it's so bad here. Now you've made that option more difficult for those in your situation.

So not all people who live in Gorton then. Thanks for confirming.
And you know exactly why I made that comment so there's no need to pretend you don't understand.

Of course. Just get me a job on the continent, a place to live, adept at speaking the language, advocacy of such a concept...

If I could move anywhere it would be to the United States, not Europe.

It means having money and not allowed to argue the case for a more equal society. If you're like me and don't have a few quid and part of the working class then just replace champagne socialist with the politics of envy.
Nothing says hypocrisy like someone who's rich advocating to highlight the plight of the working classes whilst also denigrating the electoral choices of the working classes that could potentially affect their lavish lifestyles, a wee bit.
