Thanks for proving my point

So let's be clear - Smith has not said anything like you claimed - "..... Brexit is a crock of shit !!! "

I try to avoid listening to the self-obsessed twat that is JO'B - but did so to check that I was right - a dirty experience that just shows what a disingenuous twat he is.

The reality is explained in my reply to @Gaudion M - the WA was the legacy from Remainers being in charge of Brexit and does indeed contain support to the EU over the UK.

After 3 years lost to May then the choices facing a Brexit led government last winter were unattractive......

1/ Scrap the WA and start again

2/ Remove from it the most poisonous aspect - the unfettered backstop (I remember a lot of Remainers on here could not even understand why it was so poisonous) - and proceed to make the best of it.

The UK government chose the latter so that at least we could get the fuck out and start to move on rather than lose more years.

In terms of making the best of it - they are doing quite well.

The PD was a document fully loaded with pro-EU 'aspirations' and needed to be quickly dumped - it has been.

The WA - contains binding commitments and needs to be studied line by line to establish the minimum level of compliance - and of course therefore must not be subject to the ECJ for arbitration.

As I have mentioned previously being Remainer led for 3 years placed the UK in a worse position than it was in 2016. Uncomfortable as it is to hear - Remainers have done the UK a major disservice in their management of Brexit for 3 years - but thankfully other Remainers helped the UK out in the long run by stopping May's deal getting through and bringing about a Brexit led government with a big majority. So in the round - we should all say thanks to the 2nd lot of Remainers - at least we can now start to go in the right direction

So yes - Smith was right to say what JO'B read out - it is just plain fact and entirely different to what you claimed he said. JO'B is just being a false **** and playing to his slavish audience.

So - you were wrong to say that Smith understands Brexit is a crock of shit - are you able to admit that simple fact??

It would nor represent some major concession - but generally Remainers do not seem able to admit when they have made mistakes - it is a strange affliction

Is this part of our “viable walk away option”?
The EU must be shitting themselves.

given that knob ends like IDS didn't read the WA and reduced the time for Parliamentary scrutiny and now suddenly he is bleating like a stuck pig because "hidden in the small print" is the fact that we were signing up to the EU's on-going debt book then TBH I expect the accurate description that they must be doing the opposite and be pissing themselves.

Can I just admit to really liking James O’Brien. A voice of reason compassion and sanity in a world gone stark staring mad. You might not agree with his politics but the names he is called on here are way over the top.

Because he doesn't believe you see.

The people slagging him off on here are not well renowned for their objectivity. Most still think Brexit will be great even with No Deal!

So specifically and I would ask that you are specific, what has James got wrong. Did IDS not vote for the WA he is now criticising, did he not vote for parliament to give it less scrutiny?

I’m fine with the sentiment of people like Smith or Johnson still not being happy with the WA. If that’s the case though, then don’t go spouting off about it being “oven ready”. Say the concerns at the time, not a year down the line when those concerns were all mentioned by others at the time anyway.

All getting a bit fractious today gents. Try yoga or meditation, maybe even an afternoon nap. You are just winding yourselves up into having little tantrums again and you'll just end up with everyone laughing at you and the thread getting pulled again. Chill, and play nice.
