Another new Brexit thread

Well, you would hardly expect the EU to campaign for Brexit, I mean let's get real here.

And talking of real, the notion that Russia took the summer of 2016 off from advancing Russian strategic interests is horseshite.

You want to talk about foreign interference and when its pointed out, because it was in favour of remain you instantly want to dismiss it.

CA/Russia has been thrown about ever since leave won. You needed a bogeyman so invented it and here we have the commission after a lengthy investigation telling you that you called it wrong.

I've told you why remain lost before. Negative campaign, project fear, call anyone who doesn't agree a little Englander, a racist, a fascist and turn it nasty. At no point was our membership of the EU such a good thing, such an easy sell that anyone on the remain campaign thought we dont have to do any of that, lets talk the facts and show why we need to remain.

They managed to lose a ref that couldn't be lost really given the weight of the establishment behind it and instead of accepting the blame, the reasons why it was far easier to invent a bogeyman.

The real bogeymen are Gove and Johnson who said that if we left the EU we'd still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border. Who needed foreign interference when you've got British liars?

Oh - I don't know....;-)

We had a 'David and Goliath' contest - a small and poorly funded 'campaign' against the might of the UK government - the UK establishment and the might of the EU - along with sundry other worthies such as the POTUS

And the Remain team lied and lied and lied....

Bless - so the Leave team seem to have also told some porkies / exaggerated / bullshitted / invented etc.

Pardon me if I am not personally feeling any need whatsoever to 'morally justify' anything to Remainers on this thread. I am content to go with your first comment/line - "To the Victor the spoils".

Respect to @Mazzarelli's Swiss Cheese if he feels so compelled

No - instead it is satisfying to just reflect on those facts and how the post-referendum machinations of the Remain factions - so confident of achieving the cancellation of Brexit that they have actually royally fucked up and brought about the prospect of a much harder Brexit than would/should have ever been possible.

So, as a committed Leaver, credit to them - perhaps you should look to them to morally justify their fuck ups
To the Victor the spoils yes AND the accountability and responsibility that comes with it.
You missed that last bit out.
So you now need to own Brexit.
Blaming Mavis,Robbins,Jezza,Labour,Remoaners ( and even BoJo now)etc doesn't cut it any more.

But they have no shame............

Quite a few posters should be flocking to this thread to demonstrate their values and characters by acknowledging that they have been proven to be wholly wrong in all the 'band-wagon jumping' comments they made. So many accusations - as if based on certainty - of this having happened and what impact it had

Any lack of them flocking to the thread to 'fess up will also be a demonstration of their values and characters.

So you think a 2 page report that, allegedly encapsulates years of investigation, exonerates the very people who now sit in Government and funded said report is credible ?

Okay.

Any idea why the UK Government refused to cooperate with the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation ?

You are either stupid or disingenuous.

I'm with you - it's all the fault of @mcfc1632 and he should now own brexit

Hardly, I just pointed out the EU were unlikely to campaign for Brexit, I mean, duh.

And I'm not wrong on the Russian interference unless you've been living under a rock for the last few years. How significant was the interference is up for debate, that it happened is not.

Additionally the two viewpoints can co-exist, that there was Russian influence and the Remain campaign was poor.

Ah, inland customs, a relic of the past, now resurrected. What next? Steam engines? :)

’Government about to announce new facilities for inland customs, regulatory veterinary checks in Kent at Ebbsfleet, at Holyhead and north Weald. A transit facility in Warrington, and further sites sought too.’ @BBC

Update: 138 pages of regulatory fun.

“Border Operating Model” detailing post single market & customs unions checks/ paperwork/ formalities and how are to be carried out on previously seamless GB-EU border, now published. Govt still concerned about trader preparedness for Jan 1: @BBC

The Bexit glacier begins to melt (see what I did there?). This is a shift from UK position in March, which called for a separate agreement on climate to the FTA.

’Paris Agreement on climate change to be hardwired into Brexit trade deal’
