Our internal customs border between GB and NI is taking shape. From LogisticsUK.

‘NI Border Control Posts
The Withdrawal Agreement outlines that NI will comply with EU regulatory standards (not customs) that builds on current controls.
The BCP at each Port will be tasked to monitor, check paperwork & inspect a % of loads. (A ‘No Deal’ increases that %)

The spec for these new BCPs require appropriate facilities for the testing and storage of SPS products (animal/plant origin).
The BCP will also have an office & staff facilities at each site. This site has unloading bays for 3 trucks & parking for 4. All high spec & modern

BCP plans for Warrenpoint, which in 2019 handled 12% of RoRo movements into NI from GB would indicate Larne & Belfast will require much larger premises to ensure we have sufficient capacity & avoid delays. Larne/Belfast are also the primary routes for JIT food supply chains

The budget for the tender logically indicates Warrenpoint will be the 3rd largest BCP due to volumes & commodities handled.
Tender due for award now.

For logistics & NI supply chains, we need confidence that goods will move easily & legally from 1st January.’

But - he is not a representative of a European country is he?

He is the representative of the EU appointed to the UK

So I suggest that he should have declined such meetings and undertake his role with professionalism - dealing with the representative(s) that UK government appoints to meet with him.

Equally, I would not support the UK government meeting directly with leaders of Catalonia to discuss future relationships whilst Catalonia is part of Spain.

Simply put - your blinkedness with regard to the EU being some altruistic supreme body limits your objectivity
The EU Ambassadors represent 27 countries. Primarily on trade matters which the 27 countries outsource to the EU and also on foreign policy matters that are agreed at EU level.

Catalonia is not a separate country. Scotland is a separate country. They are one of four nations that currently make up our DisUnited Kingdom.

Shot and chaser...

Cabinet office/Treasury minister Lord Agnew tells MPs traders “not as ready as should be” and criticised a “head in the sand” attitude to biz preps for new post Brexit customs and regulatory border on January 1st warning them to “wake up” and that “their businesses at stake” @BBC

‘Perhaps the Minister, who is still rather new to his brief overseeing customs/border readiness I might add, would like to join me in HMG meetings where "we can't share that with you at present" is the default answer to so much‘ @IoD

Looks like it’s businesses that will now get the blame for post transition problems then.
Anyone but the idiots in charge of government.

The UK is dead. It was killed on the the altar of English nationalism in 2016. Funeral TBA.
but but but all the evidence...lies lies lies, the prosecution by PROVEN liars, and a hired gun in the shape of farage doing his piper of Hamlyn act using furriners instead of/along with rats, all wrapped up in a yewnian jack and labelled (wait for it)...democracy..
A double funeral then, the UK and Democracy (no flowers please, donations to the murdoch/mail/desmond/torygraph/putin foundation- "Save Our Billionaires". May as well chuck "satire" in as well, this whole fiasco has been beyond satire since the "bums rush" of the referendum. Add "shame", and "consevative party", (we're gonna need a bigger grave)
Unfortunately, the wake will be "tickets only", and dancing on the grave will behind a paywall, the valedictory supper menu WILL include hormone beef and chlorine-washed chicken and duck a l'orange-one, Pudding "Eton-what-a-fuckin-Mess", humble pie (kidding obviously)
Dress code, informal but, clowns will be vetted, smirks will be tolerated( encouraged?) Photo opportunities available including russian translators and tax "advisers", although as it's a "charitable event" receipts are available in the tent with the big fiddle as an identifier
Security by G4S (guests are advised to arrange their own, including food-testers)
Transport by Grayling Limos (Again guests are advised to arrange their own)
Their will be ample medical staff on hand at reasonable rates from Hunt Private Enterprises (although the usual caveats apply obviously)
A panel of judges will reward the winner of "who kept a straight face longest as various headlines from the press are read out by the PM, all entrants receive a peerage and if they already have one can be passed on to their nominee. They are also available in the tent marked Brexit Favours which has hidden entrance and exit portals. Actors/body doubles are available for those in "sensitive" positions/marginal seats.
Amen

Oh I dont think it is Bob, i mean look at the Furlough scheme....Scotland and Wales are both very keen to work with Westminster to get the money they need for that.

£10 Billion so far to Scotland alone. Not bad seeing as they dont want anything to do with Westminster dont you think?
