Sure, I didn't say ALL leavers want to end FOM. I'm pretty sure not ALL Remainers are in favour of FOM either. But then you also have people like @Mëtal Bikër who are leavers but have no desire to end freedom of movement
I'm pretty sure not ALL Remainers are in favour of FOM either.
?? Seriously....
If he has gotten an EU country to agree to block an extension - I really doubt that is the case - would people not at least recognise that as a pretty shrewd move.
Irrespective of being a Remainer or Leaver surely people can all say - clever ****?
We have had years of the EU using their Westminster sycophants to do their work and that has been applauded - so why would this be more reprehensible?
Dishonest yes, but probably just naively unrealistic as well. I think they genuinely believed this "they need us more than we need them" bullshit, and completely and utterly misjudged the fact that EU puts the integrity and future stability of the EU ahead of any and all economic considerations.Which is precisely why it was one of May’s red lines.
However what we were told at the time is that we would be able to ditch FOM but retain all the benefits of the single market, in particular in relation to the free movement of goods, services and capital when that was never even remotely possible.
Whichever way you look at it, the leave campaign was dishonest to the core.
Then let's have an election!

It's not only Brexit supporters who were concerned about loss of jobs, cheap EU labour, loss of community, NHS burdens and waiting times. They may have voted Remain because it was a binary vote, but just putting a tick in the Remain box doesn't mean you like everything that vote stands for.How can you be a remainer and against freedom of movement?
It's like being a city fan and not wanting Liverpool to drop points
I would be stunned if you could find a significant portion of remainers who would want to ditch freedom of movement. Personally I am in favour of FOM. But there's a HELL of a lot of things about the EU I do NOT like, and yet I still voted Remain. It doesn't mean I like everything to do with EU membership.
Unfortunately I fear it’s not true, would be fucking hilarious if the extension got vetoed though. To watch the smug grins get wiped off the faces of the likes of Barnier and Juncker would be priceless ;)No different to the Lib Dems writing begging letters to their EU masters is it.

(And they didn't need us more than we needed them in the first place, of course)
Sadly I've forgotten ;-(A wise man indeed.
BTW, which leg?
And there's a whole load of people who were just not prepared to listen to ANY logic. Like my Telegraph-reading 84 year old mother, who is barely able - scrub that, who is unable - to sustain any kind of logical debate, and who just wants "OUT, OUT, OUT" after being brainwashed by that rag for 10 years.Good post.
Id say those peddling the myth were mostly dishonest, those swallowing it simply unrealistic.
Strange that they haven't received the appropriate amount of scorn for this.No different to the Lib Dems writing begging letters to their EU masters is it.
Quite a lot of Remainers had no affection for the EU and would have voted Leave if the PM and Chancellor hadn’t scared them to death with their lies. Both sides can play that game ;)And there's a whole load of people who were just not prepared to listen to ANY logic. Fascist wannabe dictator to the rescue? Yep. Reprehensible.?? Seriously....

Someone new to the thread tried it last week.Yeah that one died a death some time ago didn't it?
Is it? You'd need another Supreme Court case to decide that.No I'd say foriegn collusion is not a shrewd move, seeing as it's illegal.
