If she is muttering it, the French and Germans want it and what they want they normally get.

Easy Bob, Paris and Berlin will decide it for everyone else ;-)

Other nations still have to vote for it and vote for it they should. It makes sense.

Ahhhh the road to a federal Europe and the death of national government.

Its a glorious thing and of course, just leavers project fear ;-)

Dude. It’s tax harmonisation and it will be decided by national Govts.

To run a single market across 31 countries you need harmonised rules, standards and regs. If you don’t have these then you don’t have a Single Market and the greater the harmonisation the better the Single Market functions. On services the EU has greater harmonisation between nations than the US has between States. And every single EU nation has an elected national Govt. The EU Single Market is a remarkable achievement when you think about it. Even more so when you consider 4 of the countries are not even in the EU.

Economics v sovereignty in a post

So the Irish Foreign Minister insists on Marr the backstop stays as an insurance policy against no deal which means the WA can’t pass leading to no deal and the Irish economy taking a massive hit. Makes perfect sense to me ;)
Don't forget the GFA and peace in Ireland mate, assuming you give a sh1t.

Yeah because the biggest hurdle of the gfa was self governance and power sharing in Ireland in stormont . Remind us again how long it has been since that all dissolved and yet again Northern Ireland is governed from England

But no the big issue is vat on clothes . Yep that’s it . Vat and customs duty that will start the troubles again.

It's truly amazing (in a sad sort of way) that as we celebrate half a century passing since we put man on the moon using less computing power than I have in my hand as I tap this post, we apparently can't find a technological solution to the Irish border.? I suppose depending upon which angle you wear your tin-foil hat, either NASA or people who want to throw obstacles in the way of brexit are lying.

It’s actually the border that we’d have no choice to put up to adhere to WTO regulations, as would the EU.

Maybe all those involved should concentrate on sitting down and agreeing to a functional devolved government once again before spuriously claiming that the UK leaving the EU will be to blame for the tearing up (allegedly) of the GFA?

I know which one id be far more worried about.

We aren’t putting up a border

Ireland aren’t putting up a border

Eu aren’t putting up a border

All stated that.

The Northern Ireland troubles are over exaggerated as part of brexit. The main issue and hurdle of the gfa was power sharing in the north but for sometime that has failed and Northern Ireland has been governed from England but no that’s not the trigger for a return to the troubles. No it’s custom duties that’s what’s going to cause the issue . The unionists and loyalists aren’t interested in having a working joint government in Ireland . No it’s the customs duties that troubles them. Yeah right.

Someone else that gets it.

Thanks.
