To be clear, "current agreement" means current status within the EU....I think a few people are now realising the current agreement is better than any other eventuality from here on in. Hopefully the wider public now realise this too.

I'm not so sure. Much of the north voted Tory (unless you are in a northern city) and much of the north voted for Brexit.
My constituency for example (South Ribble) voted 59% to leave and the Tory MP gained 53% of the vote.

Why would any Brexit supporter in Lancashire vote Labour if they go wholeheartedly for remain? It is a huge risk for Labour.
I may be a cardNo, he was claiming falsely that "no deal" was part of the leave campaign. You seemed to be claiming he was claiming something different.
Now you've constructed a ridiculous, barely grammatical falsehood that the g,overnment position is that the will of the people is something they made up after the referendum. And then say there is no ambiguity! You are a card.
Unfortunately the wider public has barely changed its mind at all since 2016I think a few people are now realising the current agreement is better than any other eventuality from here on in. Hopefully the wider public now realise this too.

I can see Ireland going in to a major recession.Just listened to Leo Varadka saying that in the event of a no deal they would have to then start negotiations and discuss things like the settlement . You couldn't make stuff up like this. Surely better to discuss now Leo? In the event of a no deal there will be no settlement money! Talk about arrogance or is it stupidity. What a pillock.
In the event of a no deal, I am pretty certain the UK government would reduce corporation tax to the same level as the ROI. Even May the remainer mentioned this three years ago. That and tariffs, if they were brought in, considering the amount of trade that goes through UK ports would completely knacker their economy. It wouldn't be great for us either in the short term. That's why this bluffing game has suddenly started. Pretty sure a new deal will be reached before the end of Oct. Politicians eh? Pretty pathetic bunch.I can see Ireland going in to a major recession.
Now that is proper mis-leadingIts still the wrong number.
So lets try:
" We send the EU £130m every week
in return the UK economy benefits by an estimated £78bn per year
That pays for 75% of the health service"
Still not wholly truthful but a damn sight more accurate than what you are attempting to defend.
Ireland has blinked. In the event of a no deal, I am pretty certain the UK government would reduce corporation tax to the same level as the ROI. Even May the remainer mentioned this three years ago. And his solution for the border in the event of a no deal is?Just listened to Leo Varadka saying that in the event of a no deal they would have to then start negotiations and discuss things like the settlement . The obvious one, leave it open and do some people goods checks at the ports. And his solution for the border in the event of a no deal is?
That sounds familiar ;)The obvious one, leave it open and do some people goods checks at the ports.
Again - the truth can be soooo inconvenient"Let's spend it on the NHS" is a proposition, not a promise.
An example of a promise would be "there will be an emergency budget on the Monday following the referendum",
My goodness. In what way? (Hint, check figures before responding as I have good source for each). Now that is proper mis-leading
If we are going to remain then crack on with full integrationIf we do leave and then apply to rejoin. The terms will be worse than what we have now. Adoption of the Euro, full integration etc.
My whole position now is we should minimise making our position worse.
You know we've elected to leave, not the other way round, don't you?Just listened to Leo Varadka saying that in the event of a no deal they would have to then start negotiations and discuss things like the settlement . None todayBS - there is zero pressure to join the euro or adopt other EU structures. Our membership on current terms, inclusive of veto and opt outs, is far greater than pushing anything that would force us to leave. There would be no issue at all if we revoked A50 and just stayed as we are. None.
