if he goes to prison he deserves it and it will be on his shoulders any unrest that follows

It does make one wonder if the police cuts were a coincidence or part of the plan to seize power and install a despot.

The small number of police fighting Johnsons "black shirts" in Parliament Square today has to make you think.

Not sure how you can say that her deal wasn’t much different to Labour proposals when they were not consulted. It’s true that there was a lot of push back against EEA/EFTA because many Brexiters including quite a few on here said it was not really leaving so why bother. It would have had the advantage of only pissing off three quarters of the population a bit, with the other quarter being totally pissed off. That would be better than totally pissing off half the population and fucking the economy.

Well unless the report I read on the BBC was bollocks (quite possible I suppose, given the shite they’ve written about City at times), they weren’t intrinsically different.

I just think it’s been quite clear that some politicians - on both sides of the debate - are putting political tribalism above all else so even an EEA/EFTA type deal arrived at with cross-party input would see some non-Tories vote against it. Likewise, if Labour were in government overseeing this, it would be the same again.

He has been acting like a dictator, that trump style stunt with the speech in front of the police won't have gone down well

A general election shouldn't decide this, that's for selecting your government for the next 5yrs based on a huge range of policies, the leavers are so desperate to leave any old how that they have lost sight of that, look they have had over 3yrs to get brexit done,May left it to the last minute because she wanted to ram her deal through when time was nearly up,boris has actually interferred with democracy in a bid to ram through no deal against the will of the house,if he goes to prison he deserves it and it will be on his shoulders any unrest that follows
So if it’s not a GE what would be your cunning plan?

Fucked if i know but i don't want to install a government chosen whilst everyone is rabid about brexit,an extension i presume is the best bet,if boris does what he should do and look after the whole country he will just have to do it,he is responsible for all 65m of us not just the 17m or whatever it is

A second referendum? The WA that was agreed, no deal or remain. Run that concurrently with a GE and elect the government you think best placed to deliver on that and a range of other issues.
You can’t be serious? Referendum results are meaningless and can be overturned by Parliament, so let’s say we have a 2nd referendum and vote narrowly to Remain, but elect a Parliament with a Leave majority. This Parliament then ignores the referendum result and Leaves anyway, and Remainers couldn’t have any cause for complaint because the precedent has been set.

Well the precident wouldn't have been set would it ?

The equavalent would be that the remainers promise only to remain, if we get a much better deal from the EU, negotiate a worse one, vote against their own deal, then try to bin Parliament whilst they push through remaining without a deal.

A Parliament with a Leave majority would feel no obligation to respect the result of a referendum because Parliament is sovereign.

Yes I'm serious. This should have happened when May failed to get her deal through parliament.

Leaving without a deal, after every single brexiteer promising the electorate that they would get them a better deal, if they voted to leave, would be utterly dishonest. The referendum was a con trick.

If all the main parties had been involved in negotiations from the start, we would have left by now but the Tories wanted their own deal rather than a cross party one.

If they want no deal, campaign on that ticket in an election & then put it in the referendum. According to some on here, that was on the ballot paper, so nothing to worry about.

Let's see if the Tories do that. I recon they will claim, again, that it's only a 'bargaining tool'.

Careful Rascal - all this spleen can backfire, Boris is a hero to many - the new Horatius?
Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:
“To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his gods,

Amber Rudd is the latest casualty, resigning from the cabinet and the whip! Cummings plan is certainly a bringer of great carnage - brings to mind The Italian job -"you were only supposed to blow the doors off"

Strange timing Saturday night. Wonder if there are others in the offing.

A number of those present are known fascists.

Have you seen them trampling on the wreaths at the cenotaph, that is patriotism for you.

I didn’t see that but if they have they’re a fucking disgrace.

My point is that if I felt my vote was taken away from me I’d react very badly.

Engaging in Fascism I wouldn’t do.
