John Mann has resigned the Labour whip, he's going to be the new government Anti Anti-Semitism Czar. He voted with the Tories against the new extension bill along with Kate Hoey.

What convenience.

Antisemitism has almost died out now and then this at a crucial point.

I think you'll find reports of its demise are greatly exaggerated - particularly inside Corbyn's Labour Party, on which John Mann is an expert.

As someone most critical on this forum of Labour antisemitism, in fact I felt often as a lone voice against it, do you happen to have a link?

Philip Hammond has revealed he is taking legal advice on Boris Johnson's decision to throw him and 20 other Tory MPs out of the party for trying to avoid a no-deal Brexit.

The former chancellor said he was "saddened" at the "purge" led by those who were "serial rebels" under former prime minister Theresa May's government.

He launch a thinly-veiled attack on Mr Johnson's special adviser Dominic Cummings, saying he would not be "pushed out" of the Conservatives by "unelected Downing Street advisers who are not Conservatives and who care not one jot whether the party has a future".

Mr Hammond's comment came as Amber Rudd, the work and pensions secretary, quit, saying the expulsions amounted to an "assault on decency and democracy".

The comments came in a piece for his local newspaper The Surrey Advertiser, where Mr Hammond defended his decision to support legislation which will force the prime minister to ask Brussels to delay Brexit to avoid no-deal on 31 October.

He insisted "we must get Brexit done" and said the bill which is due to become law on Monday gives Mr Johnson the "time needed genuinely to negotiate a deal".

"This is my party, and I am not going to be pushed out of it by unelected Downing Street advisers who are not Conservatives and who care not one jot whether the party has a future.

"Nor will I have my party taken from me by entryists and usurpers who have infiltrated the party ranks, in an attempt to turn it from a centre-right broad church into an extreme right-wing faction."

Mr Hammond added he was taking legal advice on "the lawfulness of actions taken against me and my colleagues".

"I will decide in due course how I intend to proceed and my colleagues will reach their own decisions," he said.

Mr Johnson has reportedly tried to woo back the Tory rebels he expelled on Tuesday night with a peace offering, but several MPs denied the claim on Saturday.

Former attorney general Dominic Grieve told Sky News there has been "none whatsoever" of that.

Ann Milton also told Sky News: "I haven't received any olive branches."

I don’t subscribe.

Again, it seems massively fucking convenient to do so now.
Indeed. Undoubtedly there is an issue in labour that needs sorting, but it always seems that it only gets raised as part of a pop at corbyn by those with other axes to grind. Same on the opposite side of the house tbh. BJ has always been a twat, but his party members only seem to see this when they have other issues with him.

I'll save my sympathy for the people Brexit will impact the most.

"we've got a lamp post just for you" - such charmers. Its been said before not everyone who voted Leave was a racist but every racist voted Leave - it gave them an ideology and idols to coalesce around.

I feared this would happen. Could get a lot worse. I really hope not.

well having seen several posts online they look like the usual pro-brexit / Goodard/ Tommeh type thugs to be honest who have attached themselves to Leave as an outlet for their latent feelings. It can't be a coincidence that violent protest follows these people around.

It’s all about timing. There hasn’t been a word of complaint about antisemitism for months, suddenly as Labour take a grip, this makes news.

I know as blues we can spot it in the sports sections a mile off, surely we can do the same here.
