They probably could have, politically, had the new WA fallen at first or second reading, but not while there seems to be a real chance that it could pass bar time constraints.

Maybe then, but at the risk of being the focus of the fingerpointing over everything, including the Irish border.

A GE will see a brexit pact with Farage with the promise that a majority Tory gov will deliver a very hard if not no deal brexit.

The country then has a straight choice, a de facto second ref.

Remain v Leave

Completely agree. This GE will be ONLY be about Brexit. Which is a sad state of affairs for an election.
 
I think you piss off the electorate at your peril... in a shootout like that don’t look past leave...
They're pissing off pretty much half the electorate no matter what they do. Last poll 49.8% favoured remain over Johnson's deal. The difference might just be that those percentages translate into seats far better in Scotland and NI. Think about that.

Which is what virtually ever MP has said they dont want but they have forced.
