There are very few constituencies where Labour voters who voted Leave would be a majority of (regular) Labour voters and everywhere else their Remain voters might punish them for the vacillation.

So you keep saying.

I keep saying the opposite.

Only a GE will show who was right and who was wrong.

The latest portmanteau I heard was that we'd most likely be offered a Flextension, with a couple of jumping off points available prior to January, which seems pragmatic enough to be offered, given there will be some in the EU who don't want it to drag on and others who are happy to.
No need. Article 50 with any extension allows earlier settlement if there's an agreement.

He's agreed a deal which I'm sure he's not completely happy with in order to get it through a Remain dominated Parliament, that won't be the case after the election. If the EU like this deal, then I'd expect them to listen to Boris's request regarding the extension, because he's demonstrated he can get it through. A long extension is no longer a risk free option for the EU.
You and I disagree about the likely outcome of the GE, and who’s to know who’s right, but I can say with some certainty that any chance Johnson’s got of getting a majority will dissipate if he nails his mast to a ultra-hard Brexit; as this will lose him a significant number of votes in the suburban marginals populated in large numbers by the professional middle-classes.

There is no deal, there is an international treaty that is non negotiable and certainly not amendable as MP's think it might be.

It isn't being agreed so revoke and call a GE.

The country needs at least the opportunity of returning a majority government, either leave or remain and lets put an end to this once and for all.
Revoke and GE sounds good to me.

The parties supporting leave can promise us years of never ending Brexit trade negotiations even assuming that the WA gets sorted quite quickly. Alternativelythey could promise No Deal and focus on restructuring the economy to become a low paid, high unemployment Brexitopia, with little industry and agriculture.

The remain supporting parties can focus on investment, public services, jobs, the NHS etc, because we wouldn't be living through years more of uncertainty like the last three.

Bring it on.

Yeah, yeah. The EU will buckle before our mighty Johnson. Give us a good deal or we will crush you (May 2016). Still escaped your notice that we are reduced to begging the EU not to do what we formally requested they do on the grounds the EU may not like what is coming to them. The EU know what is coming to them. More sovereign U.K. territory if the last few months are anything to go by.

You gotta love Brexit for the lols.

Agree.

Do you blame our politicians for that or us leave voters for not letting it go and expecting our votes to count?
I don’t think any particular group is to ‘blame’ personally, and I feel that is hugely simplifying what is an extremely nuanced situation.

I do think we should leave as soon as possible, but slavish adherence to an arbitrary deadline, and curtailing of reasonable debating time, for what is such a crucial issue, are both absurd, and more about cock-waving than anything else.

Every single promise Johnson makes is broken. Out by 31st October, no border in the Irish Sea, will never ask for an extension. When you tell so many lies it is inevitable.

The consequences for our society if we don’t leave will be even worse than if we do. What a fucking state of affairs.
100% agreed.

The utter balls up was (a) agreeing to having a referendum and (b) losing the fucking thing.

I can kind of excuse (a), since this was to a certain extent a boil which needed lancing. But (b)? What an absolute travesty that the Remain camp led such a negative, uninspiring campaign and which allowed themselves to be totally outmanoeuvred by the Leave side. Cameron made some enormous blunders, not least being anywhere near it himself, given the pains of austerity and the unpopularity at the time of the Tories. Also by not keeping ministers on a tighter rein.

Anyway, that was then and no use crying over spilled milk. What's done is done and we have to deal with the consequences.

Pathetic.

I am sure you are clever enough to be able to understand what the word "lie" means, so I can only assume you are simply shit-stirring. For the avoidance of doubt, it is not a lie to say something which you fully mean to deliver, but are then PREVENTED from delivering by some other twat. You know this, so stop being disingenuous.

If I say I'll be at my Mum's by 3 O'clock and then there's an accident on the M6 and I don't get there until 4, have I lied? No.

I remember those heady days when Johnson declared he wouldn’t open discussions with EU leaders until they unilaterally removed the backstop.

Just pointing out the facts.

Look mate a few legal provisions regarding workers rights and the environment and giving Parliament a say on crashing out at the end of transition would convince many of those who voted against the programme to back the bill at the third reading.
These are all internal matters and needn't concern the EU i.e.doesn't affect the deal.
Oh wait a minute the ERG wouldn't like that and there's your problem.
Everything goes back to the Tories.

I would add that anyone that believes a single word he says is short of mips.
