It's true!!
Remember the London riots which game up to Manchester in August. Seems great after a few cans in the garden, once it starts pissing it down it's no so attractive. Particularity for those with work in the morning
2292.Which year?
2292.
The EU need to add gentle pressure to the people determined to delay and discuss in the commons.. you know who they areSo, we aren’t taking control? You want an un-elected foreigner to have an influence over our democratically elected UK Parliament?
This is very dodgy ground
Agreed. Many things will be worse- not least being poorer- but we’ll cope . Should have had that on the side of a bus . I would imagine the millions of families struggling financially at this moment in time will be delighted.
I will cut straight to the chase in this immigration did a lot of good for this country. Rightly or wrongly Blair and Brown exploited it and economically we all benefitted from the boost of cheap hard working labour.I’ve said on here before and don’t wish to bang on about it but I’m reading Broken Vows, a critique of Blair and his government. What is startling is New Labour’s almost obsessive refusal to acknowledge immigration as needing to be curbed at all. It was a dirty word in the Cabinet and the flood gates were definitely opened, even allowing people to claim refugee status coming from places that had no danger nor warranted fleeing.
I love a lot about that government and their achievements when it comes to living standards but this definitely contributed to where we are now, I’ve realised this now.

The problem is not immigration it's not a dirty word it's the cunts like Farage and Cameron who jumped on it and made it one. Instead of saying wise the fuck up we have benefited greatly from this influx of people. We went backwards knuckle dragging fascist let's close the borders and deport mode.
These people came over here and made this country there own and we should be proud of that. I work for a company that 25% of the workforce is polish and if people should learn to integrate stop pretending they live in the 1940s.
I’m not sure who you’re trying to sell it to, I reckon 99% of people on here are pro-immigration to some degree.
Blair didn’t exploit immigration, he just completely ignored it and didn’t think it was something worth looking at, which was obviously a mistake.
I’ve got two direct reports from Eastern Europe, they’re both great additions to British society but the problem is, people become defensive when their entire communities change quickly, for whatever reason, not just immigration, and that was ignored.
Brexit, in my opinion, was a last grasp at opposing globalisation.
With the greatest respect, I think that’s a bit fanciful.I’m not sure who you’re trying to sell it to, I reckon 99% of people on here are pro-immigration to some degree.
But didn't I read that the biggest leave areas were those with least immigration ?
London is heavily remain and is the most ethnically diverse part of the country.
Strange.

I reckon it would be closer to 999 out of 1000. I just think immigrants should be prioritised on their skills and the need for them and not on the fact that they are a white European which under the EU gives them a guaranteed place regardless of skillset over the dark skinned people from outside Europe .I think to ‘some degree’ isn’t fanciful. I reckon 99 out of 100 posters will agree we need at least some immigration into certain areas of industry.
Still leaves around 700 members who don't want any immigrants, at all, for any reason.I think to ‘some degree’ isn’t fanciful. I reckon 99 out of 100 posters will agree we need at least some immigration into certain areas of industry.
One thing the SNP don't want is a GE that coincides with the trial of Alex SalmondDon't know anything about Scottish Nationalism or it's popularity, but I agree with you George that the situation in NI and the possible situation in Scotland are not comparable in my view. Unless Scotland chose to leave the UK and The Westminster government decided that they would annex the Southern Uplands maybe splitting just North of Edinburgh and just south of Glasgow and calling it Southern Scotland and keeping that in the UK.
Then Scotland as an independent country would have a border with the UK (Southern Scotland) that they may dispute.
If everyone in Southern Scotland wanted to remain part of the UK this mightn't be so bad or difficult to negotiate about, however if the Republic of Scotland actually still claimed the southern uplands and there was a sizeable population in the southern uplands that still regarded themselves as Scottish rather than UKish, then you might have a bit of Trouble.
Maybe you would require another agreement, (let's call it The Hogmanay Accord), to settle this first. Maybe best to lodge this with the UN and have it internationally recognised.
Then maybe do a withdrawal deal with the UK, or wait, maybe rejoin the EU first and then do a trade deal. Wait. Is that possible after or before. Not sure.
I'm pretty sure the order of events would be pretty important, and you would want to be sure to not get it arse about face, or cart before the horse.
But then you could compare Scotland and Ireland....
I think.
I don't think they'll care, it's not like they have to put him up as a candidate. One thing the SNP don't want is a GE that coincides with the trial of Alex Salmond

Look at London.... Overrun with nasty immigrants. Vote leave or where you live will be just like London before you know it. Not suggesting you're racist or anti-immigrant people of course. But didn't I read that the biggest leave areas were those with least immigration ?

Totally agree. People complain about the strain on our public services. Blame for that lies with successive governments failing to look forward, plan and prepare the public services infrastructure to cope with the projected numbers. These people are welcome net contributors, not leeches.I will cut straight to the chase in this immigration did a lot of good for this country. And sorry to quote my own post, but control of our borders and immigration cuts both ways.Totally agree. People complain about the strain on our public services. Am I thrilled at the idea that in return for us being able to control the numbers of EU migrants coming in, I will be unable to freely live, work and potentially retire in any one of 27 other countries? No I am not. Seems like one hell of a lot to give up in return for fuck all.
