I'm open to that view, but if we assume brexiteers are in the darkness of stupidity, do we feel that repeatedly calling them stupid is an intelligent strategy to change their minds and bring them out of the darkness and into the light of remain? If not, then why would we keep repeating this mantra which is so demonstrably ineffective or perhaps even counterproductive? The answer of course is that there is stupidity and arrogance inherent in both viewpoints when their proponents become radicalised by their own echo chambers.

Is anyone going to explain why spending billions on the introduction of NTBs with our largest trading partner is a good thing?

What are the benefits of increased prices and reduced trade as a result of the costs of the NTBs needing to be absorbed?

You misunderstand. I don't really care, but i do suspect we've ALL been played into assuming polarised views on this. Both certain that they are right, unable to really talk to each other, but very open to manipulation. Turning half of Kent into a lorry park. Spending £705m to ensure UK industry has more red tape. Sterling still not recovered against the US dollar, to be fair this has been great news for me. Our automatic right to live in work in 28 European countries is about to be rescinded. We have been stuck with an internal customs border and our UK internal trade will see new trade barriers. Part of our sovereign territory is now under the economic writ of the EU. We have had to ask permission to build new customs infrastructure in part of our sovereign territory. We paid £39 billion for this to happen.

That’s just off the top of my head.
