I don't think it matters much who the president is in terms of a trade deal with the USA. When one is done it will be pretty much to their advantage anyway. They have lower standards, lower costs and greater economies of scale than the UK and are unlikely to forego those advantages.
Yeah, I think we’ll get screwed on a trade deal with the US regardless of who the President is.

Presumably Johnson’s bluff re: a no-deal Brexit will be weakened by the election result though. Biden’s made his thoughts on the Ireland situation pretty clear.

according to some Tory MP's ( mostly new intake ) Biden is a Corbyn level IRA sympathiser ( though not a Claire Fox level apologiser )

Aye as well

You do realise we ain’t taking strawberries flowers planes boats and lorries seriously? You have grasped this? The fact you actually look this shit up suggests it’s become a bit of an obsession this brexit lark for you.

I may pop back in a few weeks, prior warning I won’t be taking it very seriously so don’t feel the need to do much research:-)
So that's two of you just wumming.

And there was I taking your idiocy seriously.

It's a tacit admission though that this Brexit lark really is crap. Trumpian levels of denial now about how crap.

Ireland really laying it on thick with Biden...

Biden and Rod Stewart surely represent the best of all things celtic. I'm not sure it's occured to the Taoiseach when Bidens presidency actually starts and how that fits into the brexit timeline - we might already be being treated for the toxic effects of chlorinated chicken in a privatised NHS by the time he gets to park his zimmer frame in the oval office.

He is going to refuse a FTA with us whilst at the same time building a road bridge between Ireland and France so no one needs us.

What a guy.

No, it just means Ireland will have the US in their corner as well as the EU. Witness this...

Also this from the BBC

Not sure it’s sunk in yet just many of the Obama era Democrats (many of whom will soon be part of a Biden White House) a) associate Boris Johnson with Trump/Trumpism b) remember and begrudge the Obama “part Kenyan” article. Not going to be an easy task for the FCDO.’

I posted that earlier in the week - Biden dislikes Johnson intensely because of the snide "part Kenyan" remark in one of his columns right at a time the birth certificate thing was raging over there. This is the thing for Johnson - he has now reached a level where his cavalier dog whistle bull shit from his past can start to come back to haunt him.

Yep.

That's exactly how geopolitics works between two of the world's strongest allies.

You and the BBC have a real grasp of what's about to happen no doubt.

I'm not sure if many people currently realise how much of our trade is currently with the US, and that we currently don't actually have a trade deal with them

Read this - this is how we trade and invest with the US as part of the EU. We don't have this as of midnight 31st Dec. Some people here voted for that and they were aware because they never tire of telling everyone that they did know.
We have no replacement for this in place as of 1/1/2021.

Not really fella until January you are really arguing about absolutely nothing. As I write this we are on page 4416, let that sink in. Unless ric closes it or the software can only handle so many pages you will argue this with others until your dying breath.

If you think googling the co2 of a boat isn’t insane please step back and have a think. I accept your opinion as a remainer I just don’t agree with it. It’s not wumming on my part it’s an acceptance that I cannot affect others views on this thread. I just find the effort some of you put in which you know means zip hilarious.

Over time the number of posters has dwindled on this thread or they post occasionally only. There is a reason for this but if you want to discuss the kilometres a daffodil has to travel don’t expect people not to laugh about it a little.

But we have good trade with them now because we are part of the EU...........do you think we will be part of that 1/1/21?

^^^This is from the site you linked to - I didn't write it. This is what it says about the UK post Jan 01/21......

Non-EU markets - United Kingdom (from 01/01/2021)

The European Union currently has no trade agreements with United Kingdom (from 01/01/2021).

The two trade arrangements look remarkably similar to me, and currently we don't seem to be struggling to do business with the US.
