Might as well call it a day and try again next year...

One of the negotiators in my team has tested positive for COVID-19. With DavidGHFrost we have decided to suspend the negotiations at our level for a short period. The teams will continue their work in full respect of guidelines.
@MichelBarnier

Now if only someone sensible was in charge looking for an excuse to extend the extension.

Nobody mentioned car manufacturing before the vote.

There was plenty of coverage in the press but, just like all the other about to become inconvenient truths, it was branded Project Fear and scoffed at. The Mackems at NISSAN were laughing saying NISSAN would never close........

Yes, I was sure it had been mentioned.

after googling it i could only find this for pre-brexit mentionings.
Vote leave flyer and Nissan sued 'em.

Why was there any need to mention it before the referendum? Hard Brexit hadn't been invented then. We were told we'd still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border.

Now we've got a haulier (on the Today programme) facing all the extra paperwork and delays and costs, and lack of any chance to trial the procedures, and saying "we had it as good as it gets, and we shouldn't forget that" plus there are two current options, "very very long queues or your shelves will be bare".

Local TV has just announced (7.00 am) that a Cambridgeshire research company (specialising in genetically modified crops) have leaked that all current Eu employees will have to be rerated on the new points system next June. They will then have to pay to stay and work in the UK providing they reach the required points score.

Dropped at the 7.30 broadcast.
Dropped because not true?

We aren't dangling. There never was a us trade deal. It's bollocks that was initially spouted by brexiteers, and led to the cries of NHS privatisation and chlorinated chicken. The deal we've never had and are not getting is now apparently a consequence of brexit. US trade will just trundle on as it always had without one.
I doubt Biden cares very much about Boris or the UK as we don't really matter outside of intelligence and defence interests. The idea of Trump and Boris conspiring together is for the birds too.
This has been a brilliant catch-up exercise so far....

9th of November so far and this section following the US elections and where Biden is being depicted as some white knight has been a real hoot - you are right we Brexiteers must feel distraught that we have caused the UK to lose something that it has not had.

I mean after all these months of there being so many posts from Remainers banging on about how a trade deal with the US will be so savagely one-sided and it would cost the UK on food standards and the privatisation of the NHS......

I for one am certainly not sensing any level of inconsistency

........ It's probably always been that way in fairness but wankers love to talk about the special relationship, which no ordinary American I know has ever given a shite about.
I agree - whenever I go to America - ordinary Americans almost always ask if I am Australian , but who are these wankers?

The key one that I remember was a certain Labour PM - and he was and is a mad keen Remainer

Then there were several Conservative PMs and - yep they are all in the Remain camp

I can see where you are going with this - it seems to be only Leavers that are content for the UK to be the UK - simply an independent country looking after its own borders, laws and people

You are not alone - we proved we are the majority

Cooperation with foreign countries is fine but integration onto another state without the people being able to vote to approve the change isn't - and that has always been the problem. Politicians have never trusted the voters.
Spot on

The evidence of the last 30 years is that the politicians actually know what the public want - they are just self-serving and lying bastards - both main parties

That is why both Blair and Major promised the public votes on EU matters and duly won elections because of those promises - only to then renege
