I suppose theory consolation is that it's clearly nothing to do with us getting a deal or no deal :-(

Just in time manufacturing needs frictionless borders. We won't have them regardless of an FTA or none.
BMW announced MINI's will roll off a production line in Germany as of 2023'
JLR have a manufacturing plant operating in Bratislava.
Honda will have gone by next July.
None of this was on the cards in 2016................something must have happened since then that made them take these decisions......

My pretty basic German can identify that they have come to a decision and that they feel the plant is unsustainable.
FLURFUNK Nissan drops its own Brexit - Vote Since the Brexit - referendum four years ago, car farmers on the island warned of a "No Deal". But Prime Minister Boris Johnson apparently still believes he can dictate the conditions to the EU. This denial of reality is now being retaliated against. According to Nissan, the company plans to close its work in Sun derland. "It's been a decision, and it's not in the best interests of Britain," said a Nissan-Mana ger familiar with the Angels. In Sunderland, 7,000 jobs are at stake. It is the largest automobile factory in the Kingdom. Europe - Chief Gianluca de Ficchy wants to make the difficult decision public in a few days. Chief Operating Officer Ashwani Gupta recently warned: "When Brexit comes, without recognizing a viable business model, it will no longer be about Sunderland or Sunderland. Then our entire business in Großbri tannien would no longer be sustainable. “

Its about 27k jobs in the region nearly 35k in total across the whole of the UK.

I have written about this one here and been pooh-poohed - Project Fear, it will never close etc etc - ever since the result - Steve my neighbour over the road an who works there was telling me probably 18 months ago that despite what was being promised few at the factory thought they would stay, then the pandemic hit, massive downturn in production and the gloom became all pervasive as No Deal or a thin deal became the only options.

Laughably there are still some Leave voters who work there who believe that its all going to be OK.

It will also know what flurfunk translates to as well then yes?

How many grapevines have whispered the last 4 years only to wither and die on you all?

I wouldn't waste my time on you
AKA - you are dodging a perfectly reasonable request

Don't worry - we all know the answer - and TBF - if you had said anything else other than:

"....no I absolutely accept that I am utterly not open-minded on any of these threads......"

Then that would have only invited questions about veracity/integrity

So best to plead the 5th - but of course we all know the truth;-)

I think you answered your own questions - predictably. So why the need for my input? Keep some thoughts in your head if you already know the answer that you want.

All these Portaloos we need for the motorways of Kent will almost certainly result in thousands being purchased by the state as part of a huge world-beating deal. Coincidentally, the company, who doesn’t supply toilets at the moment, will be owned by a chum of a minister. You heard it here first!
