Really?

Not seen this poster on this thread before - given the immediate attacks and contempt from 'usual suspects' - I wonder if we will see him/her post again?

No matter whether people agree or disagree - he/she surely has a right to hold his/her own views - without being subjected to immediate intolerance and contempt - don't you think?

I notice you continue to reserve your indignant stance for people on one side of the argument - for me that renders consideration of your views on this to be of limited interest
If a poster writes nonsense, a replier has the right of reply to disavow the nonsense regardless of political persuasion.

The post was a diatribe of cliche and nonsensical RW propaganda which made the same spurious baseless claims that i would normally associate with some extreme right wing organisations.

My reply was measured and i didn't even call him or her a ****.

To be honest, it would have saved a lot of time...

Latest deal news...everyone seems relatively upbeat over the latest UK offer on fish with either the EU accepting or making a counter offer - likely the latter - and Barnier is reportedly doing a presser at 3pm. Market news in the link.

Oh, and even at the EU offer of 25% share this is an increase for UK so it something we can put in the ‘win’ column, it’s not just the the rout some people wanted, rather one of those ‘wins’ where everyone compromises and no one is especially happy.

What do you think about the generalisations that poster made about Conservatives and Labour supporters. As a former labour voter yourself do you think he has captured your view of the country. Not that what he wrote had anything to do with Brexit and I see he hasn't returned to counter any of the points made against his post. Do you get a sense that his was the post of a very sensitive soul, all reasonable and measured only to be jumped on by a hungry mob missing the usual suspects from here that are all away licking their wouds?
Hey - I was just pointing out the prevailing attitude of the intolerant usual suspects on here - all it seems Remain posters - to jump all over a poster that posts something that they disapprove of

You say: "....and I see he hasn't returned to counter any of the points made against his post......"

Hmm - I wonder why? afterall they were all so eloquent and well thought through weren't they, e.g.

"or just spout utter nonsense - the choice is yours and this nonsense is yours. Fair play for outing yourself."

"Looks like Worsley has got another account."

"Working class Tories. The worst type."

Not a bit intolerant - do you think?

Of course it gives the lie to your attempt to deny what has been an inconvenient truth for years
...many leavers and remainers for that matter who choose not to visit or post in this thread have not been hounded off by the other side, they have simply exercised a choice. Unless the mods have banned them

Another deadline, another Cave-in by Boris.
35% reduction in fish by value on the table now from UK. It was 60%. EU said max 25%. EU countries being asked to consider it.

A workforce of about 18000 workers in fishing in the EU that are affected. Considering prices will probably rise short term, 4000-6000 jobs could go spread over France, Holland, Belgium and Denmark. EU support to affected costal communities should see this home. Let's hope so.

Not that what he wrote had anything to do with Brexit......
Have you read the thread these last pages - he was a lot more on topic than some posters that seem to be competing with each other to establish their credentials re knowledge of events of >70 years ago

Who cares...post, don’t post, whatever...

I personally think his post likely represents a whole swath of people in former Labour heartlands.

I don’t agree with him and I can’t stand the Tories but those mocking the poster haven’t learned anything from December.
December 2019?

Whilst I agree - you could have picked any date from 2016 to December 2020

What is that definition of insanity that people refer to?

Frankly, for someone who implied that Labour voters are all traitors, he got off quite lightly. But I wouldn't expect you to recognise intolerance and contempt.
I recognise bollocks when I read it - and I am not referring to his post;-)

I think the reason he didn’t return is because he couldn’t back up his baseless claims.

How did you, as a former Labour voter, like being characterised as someone with no pride in the country?

He likely was - I only briefly read the post, but I started by working life in the days of the 3 day weeks and flying pickets etc.

I remember the day I crossed a picket line where I worked in West Gorton - why? because we were all called out due the disciplining of an electrician that came packed from the pub pissed and started vandalising the plant room with an iron bar

The unions have done so much good in the history of the UK IM - but in the 70s they were becoming totally power obsessed and needed to be challenged

Anyway - back on topic

Sky news just mentioned that Barnier is going to update EU countries that the latest offer from the UK is to be rejected

Rascal - you will note that I did not mention or quote you with regard to intolerance

Your response was indeed thoughtful and informative - few others on here even make such an attempt - why would they? when contemptuous and insulting one-liners are so much easier for them

I think it was more than an implication.
Labour Party supporters have no pride in their country and could not raise a bloody pitchfork if Hitler was robbing their home. It's as simple as that, there are no shades of grey, you either support your nation's efforts or you vote Labour.
I wonder if he includes those “traditional Labour voters” some of the Brexiteers defending him claim to be.

On this and several other threads the Tory supporter are getting quite bitter and lashing out s they realise what a sham this administration is. They are going to get nothing from the people they elected to get them something.

I wasn't sure it was possible, but I think this thread is actually getting progressively worse. Can we please stick to the subject and knock the endless goading and insults on the head please, otherwise you'll be thread banned. Thanks.

Forgive me for thinking that you are being a bit convenient in the first comment

As, a 'generally' and likely 'returning' Labour voter - I feel that I have a lot of pride in this country.

I genuinely cannot remember the detail of his post - but have just said in a reply to @Ban-jani some thoughts I have from that period
