Another trophyless season

I wouldn't want it if you offered it to me, no, but if we did have another trophyless season and we did blood a lot of young players then it would at least be a silver lining. Last year had nothing in the way of positives

Would you be happy to win nothing this season if it meant that we bloodied in Denayer and Nacho and maybe even Lopes? Was thinking about this earlier and I think I would be ok with it. Especially considering Pellers has only 12-24 months left it wouldn't be the end of the world for the new manager to have 2 or 3 young prem ready players who can contribute for the best part of a decade.

So would you be patient enough to allow that to happen? Thoughts?

No, I want to win trophies, not blood youngsters, were not Arsenal circa 2006.

No. Absolutely not. It's a ridiculous mindset to have imo. I've said previously, i don't get the fascination on here with putting the progression of the academy players above anything else. It should be a bonus, we should never sacrifice quality or trophies for it. I want to win, if the winning squad includes a few academy players then great, nice bonus, but if we've had to ship them all out because they're not good enough to play at the very top level then so be it. Stop thinking of them as academy players and accept them as just another player in our first team as that is now what they are. their academy status should only be noted when it comes to squad lists and quota's
But to find out if they are potentially top class players, we have to give them responsibilities in important games.

This is all Liverpool did with Sterling. They had the bottle to play him. He's not clearly any more talented than Nacho. He was just allowed to develop his game by getting game time.

I think we have an impatience with young players and it is frustrating because we could save ourselves an absolute bomb in the transfer market.

That was my point really. I maybe should have asked if anybody thought it was a risk worth taking, bearing in mind we have some potentially brilliant young prospects and a squad where we are ageing in key positions.

Obviously people would rather us just buy again until we achieve a degree of short term success.

It was Otamendi thread that got me thinking really. I was just surprised how many people preferred to sign him than give games to Denayer.

Seems now you are putting a different spin on your orinal post as I beleive most have said no. No one (please correct me if wrong) has said they would rather buy for short term success.

We wont give chance to youngsters anyways it seems, we could be winning 3:0 Chelsea tomorrow and Pellegrini will substitute Heart for Wright. Or maybe playing someone for 5 minutes and then fucking him off nowhere to be seen until next pre season. And our fans dont seem to either, since everybody just wants buy, buy, buy and then flap, flap, flap when we are not getting Pogbas, Otamendis, Messis, KDB etc. I mean fuck the fact we have Kompany, MDM, record signing Mangala (who has been good), ''tricked into signing contract'' Denayer, but fuck them all and lets buy Otamendi right? Dont like that strategy, well tough luck buddy cause you will get abused my moron kids on forum.

I am still hoping that this year maybe will the year our younglings will get proper playing time and will help us to win games, still doubt though. We dont have to chose between, we can win games and blood in our prospects IF we want to.

Personally I prefer to see the manager pick the best players available and couldn't care less if they have been bought or come through the academy.

Why can't we blood the youngsters and win a trophy, the two are not mutually exclusive.

Not really I'm not bothered whether someone agrees with me. Just after re reading my OP I don't think I got my point over as well as I could have.
