Antimalware Doctor

I have AVG cos its free. Try Norton & it will say you have a million viruses so you'll buy it. I've been using my laptop for all sorts of things. Never had no problems.

Best thing for a virus.

I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for any malware issues and Nod32 as my Anti-Virus.

I've encountered no problems with using the above two programs for years now!

Antimalware Doctor itself is a virus and is a nightmare to get rid of.

If you google it you will see loads of info as to how to, but it's not easy. Might need a windows re install.

There are a number of 'fake av' products around at the moment that infect your computer tell you that you have lots of viruses on your computer and try to get you to sign up to their service which does nothing. (see http://krebsonsecurity.com/2010/07/rogu ... ight-back/)

Try microsoft security essentials as a free av system it seems to be one of the best on various comparisons.

Most malware uses well known problems which have had patches issued to fix them. It is important to ensure you are running microsoft updates and also updating software such as adobe pdf reader and flash when prompted. Adobe plug ins are one of the main targets for cyber criminals.
