Antoine Semenyo | Medical at City Thursday - Sky (p230)

Great news, lets hope he will play the whole season for Bournemouth.

I am fine with Cherki as RW

LW can be covered by any of ( Doku, Marmoush, Foden or Bernardo )
Cherki can play on the right but I would not describe him as a right winger.

Semenyo can play any attacking position and he's also strong defensively.

He didn't play well against Arsenal but it was a difficult situation for him.

If you look at my post history I've repeated it many times.

This sub doesn't understand for some reason that he will likely need 1-2 years same as all the other players who first came into pep's teams. Even rodri had a poor first season with us.

Just because he is doing well at bournemouth doesn't mean he will have a halaand like debut season. Prepare for reality.

Do fans understand that we are not buying him for this season alone?

Why do wingers have loads of expectation on their shoulders to immediately deliver?
Probably because the current wingers aren't delivering enough.

Fuck sake I wouldn't bother if I was him. Hope this forum doesn't reflect our true match going fans base.
I’m pretty sure most of the people (I won’t say fans) who post on here never go to games. You can spot the ones that go (or used to go but now can’t) from the ones that don’t a mile off. Completely different breed of “fan”

It won't take long for him to have AN impact because allowing Cherki to move inside is one of the big positives of this move.
Good point.

Looks like our current wingers don't score.
This lad not only scores plenty but can play anywhere along the front, gives us cover for Erling if he's injured.

Signing him is a complete no brainer.

I'm excited to see him in a City shirt.

So has he played his last game for Bournemouth now

I think it's looking dependant on whether City can strike a payment plan Bournemouth are happy with.

Apparently Bournemouth want the £65m in one hit, we want it over 3 years. Bournemouth know we only have until the 10th before the release clause becomes annulled on his contract. After that Bournemouth could demand £100m if they wanted.

He might have a release clause, but Bournemouth have us over a barrel in regards to demanding how and when we pay the £65m

that performance spooked me a bit not gonna lie. seen a lot that i don't like in terms of characteristics in play.

However, it's very different playing in a bournemouth team trying to defend than us, so hard to judge.

Not really. The player clearly wants the move and he's chosen us only, meaning Bournemouth have to agree with us. It would be easier for them if Semenyo had said he'll go out us, or Liverpool or Arsenal. Whoever offered the best structure for the deal Bournemouth could go with.

If they don't get this agreed they'll have a player on their hands that has already checked out.

Im a season ticket holder, it doesnt change the fact he was shite the last two games. Thats not to say he wont be a success, or he wont add to our team, or he is not a good signing, im just saying what i seen. Im happy with the signing for the simple reason of how poor bobb and savinho have been this season so the bar is low.

Its simple really.

Know people won't like to read this but i hope it does fall through. I just don't think he is good enough. Doku on the left and Cherki off the right currently and don't think he is an upgrade on either. I like Marmoush and would rather him get the minutes and then we can assess in the summer. If he does come hope he is brilliant but his first touch isn't great and i think he looks clumsy.

I've not been hugely impressed but you have to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's distracted.

Has got a minimum of 8 PL goals in the past three seasons (and rising each year) while playing for Bournemouth. So good numbers and still improving.

Gives us a different option.
