The problem within the project player route is that no matter how promising a young player is, there is no guarantee he will ever fulfill expectation. You could be waiting years and even then it may never happen.
Then you have players like an Olise and maybe a Semenyo, who were not seen as prodigious young talents as much who become late bloomers so to speak and end up having great careers in their primes.
Also, it's not like we are spending £10m or £15m on these young players, we are paying £30m/£40m/£50m for them.
I just think serious teams have one or two projects and the rest are ready to go ready made.
It's teams like Dortmund, Spurs, Atletico who go down the route we are going down at the moment, and because of that you will get inconsistent results.
