why cant you get a little square of carpet, like a mat and put it where it shits, that way protecting your carpet

Get a litter tray for nightime,it'll take him a couple of nights to get the hang of it then all should be well.Don't clean all of the mess out of it for a few nights so he can smell where he needs to go,sorted

Could be a few things mate.

Has his diet changed at all?
How old is he?
Is he low in the pack pecking order, maybe getting bullied?
Has his masters routine changed e.g change of working hours?

My boy used to poop if i left for any amount of time and when i got him off shit food and onto orijen.

Also check he has no new food sources like next door putting out cat food etc.

If he is getting on a bit you need to feed him acana adult imo.
No grain, fit for human consumption ingredients, lower protien than orijen.
Right now its 40 quid for a 13kg sack, he only needs 250 grams of this food per day.

our Bichon still occasionally wets and messes in her bedroom during the night even if she has gone before bedtime. we put a puppy training pad down and she just goes on that. its no good having a go at the dog. in the case of Bichon's they are notoriously hard to train and some never get clean

Serious question but obviously expecting the usual BM replies....our adult spaniel cross wont stop crapping on the carpet in the early hours and it's always in the same place. It gets taken for walks twice a day, is not over fed and is quite obedient and non of the other dogs do It. We are in the middle of completely redecorating and laying new carpet throughout but I not risking it whilst this twat is still crapping inside. The Mrs refuses point blank to get rid and I can see myself wringing its scrawny neck before long.

Here is the reply you are expecting.
Someone is the owner of a dog that shits at the bottom of my drive about every 3days, I wonder if they clean it up on the other days or will they take another route for the dog to share the shit around. Now expecting the usual doggie lovers replies

wouldn't surprise me if that was a fox not a dog. have the same issue on my front lawn. I put down a load of Pyracantha cuttings which stopped it and it now shits on the gravel drive!
