Anyone a fan of folk music on here?

I remember seeing a folk group at my golf club once and they sung a great song about Manchester slum house clearings. The song was about a old woman who lived in inner city Mcr and was being made to move to a new house in the outskirts of Hattersley. Anyone know what this song could called ?

this one? The Hattersley Lament, this version by Mike Harding.

Cheers pal, but unfortunately that song doesn’t ring any bells . The chorus was summat like Oh Hattersley , Oh Hattersley, your spirit is wild and free … Don’t quote me on that though it was over 20 yrs ago

in which case it's this (chorus first at 1:20 ish):

First done by Pennine Folk Group. Google then says Hyde United Folk and Houghton Weavers did it.

Mate that’s it . Cheers for that I really enjoyed listening to it again . Great lyrics.
