Anyone flying into Bremen?

If so, how are you planning to get to Hamburg? Have you found any cheap ways of doing it?

The train is 48 euros return from Bremen to Hamburg, which kinda defeats the object of buying a cheap flight!

The first coach is at 11:55 from Bremen airport to Hamburg, which is no good as we're landing at 9am!

Yeah - flying in Weds - back friday

train is 20 Euro to hamburg - but they do a group ticket if there is 4/5 of you for 28 euro

Use the special "Länderticket" resp. "Niedersachsenticket" offer by german railway. it's only 20 Euro for a single person and only 28 Euro for a group up to five (!). Links etc is already posted in some other threads here.

Cheers Fellas. There's 4 of us, so the group ticket looks ideal. Hopefully these tickets can be bought at Bremen cos the page for purchasing tickets on the website is only in German !!!

Do these tickets definitely cover the journey we want to do? It's not clear on the website if they can only be used for local travel.

yes, it will cover your needs:
This ticket is valid from Monday to Friday for one day of your choice from 9 a.m. until 3 a.m. of the following day (on bank holidays for the whole day). It can be used on all local trains (Regional-Express, Regionalbahn, S-Bahn) and the transport systems in Niedersachsen, Bremen and Hamburg and other trains. It can also be used for selected other sections.
You just have to avoid the highspeed connections. Regional trains are fine, e.g.:
ME 81151 metronom, SnackPoint/Snacks on board the train
Bremen Main station Th dep 09:28
Hamburg Main station Th arr 10:42
train runs every hour.
