Apple TV

I bought an Apple TV whilst overseas.
I used It overseas and it worked a treat connecting and mirroring my IPad to the Telly.
I brought it back to the UK , connected it to my home wifi and it works to a point.
I can and have subscribed to Netflix on it in UK, can access YouTube, all my music films and photos in the iCloud are accessible as well.

My problem is I cannot mirror the iPad to the Telly.
I have been through the help stuff on apple website and can't find a fix.

Any suggestions please.

When you open up whatever you want to mirror and go to "Airplay" the rectangle with a triangle in it on your iPad does it even show as an option or is there just nothing there?

If you press the home button twice and then swipe to the left does the airplay button show?

Anyone bought/used one of the Jailbroken XBMC Apple Tv's?

Looking at buying one and just throwing the pc thats connected to the tv in the bin.

If you don't even have the airplay icon I would be inclined to restore the iPad as it seems like a software problem on your iPad not the Apple TV.

Jailbreak them both. I have everything broken, hacked, cracked or flashed. Phones, tablets, tv boxes, even the kettle and toaster.

I have 2 IPads, it doesn't work on either of them in the UK.
It does work on the one I use overseas so I don't see this as the issue.

There's been a few threads on here discussing the merits of jailbreaking Apple TVs and I'll try my best to summarise why I'd recommend it.

XMBC will allow you to search for any film, TV, sport etc to either stream, play or download. That's the main reason. Example I watched Ironman 3 last night in 720hd.

The other icons will allow you to use your phone as a remote, browse the Internet, improve your airplay options.

Finally it turns the atv into a media centre so you can play any music, films etc from any of your computers through the atv without you having to touch the computer.

There's probably more reasons to jailbreak an Apple TV for example I don't use Last FM, Netflix etc but the above is why I'd recommend it.

I searched the other threads for jailbreak Apple TV.
It seems that other options are better but I,now own two apple TVs so will stick with that.
Mine are ATV3 which as far asI can see can't be Jailbroken.
Or can they?

Have you tried contacting Apple mate?
They have good customer service and could help, your not doing anything illegal here so perhaps its just a setting that needs to be changed :)
