You can't, no one can. But it's not the fault of the incumbent government, industrialists or "rich" that we are living longer.

The pot is the same size it always was, but now there are more mouths taking out of it, and for two or three times the length of time that they were.

There's no easy solution to it for those already in their middle years. But it's no ones 'fault'. It's a good news story if anything. Far better than dying at 67 on average.

We signed a contract. At least me and my employer did back in 1981. They were negligent and have pissed all my pension away. I call that fraud.
They pissed it away? Who and how?

Lol. Bob crow is a cretin. The funny thing is: his fanboys are happy to champion him, like aome sort of idol. His popularity has nothing to do with the previous weak government has it?

Hahahaha, bob crow the leader of the 'moonies'.
Dickhead number 1
Ah the Internet tough guy eh. Kudos.

I bet you wouldn't say that to his face mr union rep.

Every fucker. The bankers, the politicians, the 'let's get credit' crowd who had no means to pay it back.

That was my pension they were fucking with. But it's ok, we are just Civil Servants who everyone hates anyway.
You haven't the faintest clue what you are on about Mackenzie.

No one pissed away you pension. A commitment was made when you signed your contract but it is now impossible to meet that commitment as people are living longer, you really must try and get your head around that. Your money was never there, sat in a pot and self sustaining. PS pensions never have been.

It's a bit like the problems in the private sector where there are problems with the pension pots also. All because WE ARE LIVING LONGER. It's such a simple concept that I am shocked you are struggling with it.

-- Thu May 31, 2012 9:21 am --

But you are learning a skill/trade! What about those collecting trolly's, flipping burgers or waiting staff? They are doing the same thing day in day out.

Oh and when i was 16/17 i was on £27.50 a week, in a YTS! I was just thankfull that i got dosh by other means! We don't need to stop 'earning' when the day job ends.....

im not learning fuck all mate, all i do is sit in an office taking phone calls from angry customers all day everyday. i would get a job on full time wages if i could but there is nothing where i live absolutaly nothing. I just dont see why it is so hard to pay aprentices NMW.

So this isn't an apprenticeship in the traditional sense. One where you worked and learned a trade, skill or craft for 3/4 years?

Is it one of the government run things you are made to go on or lose your dole money?

nope

No it isn't a traditional apprenticeship, it seems the company he's landed himself in through his college course are taking the piss. That said (I may have missed it) I'm not sure what course bezz is doing a college so it's possible it might not even be a course that has the learn a skill traditional apprenticeship, this literally might be giving him the "skill" of going to work each day and in that case it is achieving its aim however mind numbing that is.

My mistake mate, I misread what you meant earlier in the thread when you said it was via college, apologies.

Bezz,

From everything I have read (including pm's the other week) you are being shafted and the company are breaking the law.

Just to confirm for my simple mind.

1) You are not going to collage?
2) You are not learning a skill /trade?
3) You are being paid apprentice wages?

I am sure mackenzie and / or bluemoon dan will confirm that this cannot be called an apprenticeship.

If this is the case then they will also NOT offer you a job at the end.
