Archbishop of Canterbury steps down

It was obvious once the report came out that his position was untenable.

It was known inside the CofE that he’d likely resign today, having fulfilled his Remembrance Day duties.

There’s no incline that he is in anyway involved in the abuse, at present, but he was at some of these camps, so saying he didn’t know seems disingenuous.

It will be interesting to see the fallout and who replaces him. There are others too who may have to fall on their swords, although Welby may just be the one that goes.

Time will tell.

It's nothing to do with religion and everything to do with humanity and decency
Given that it's the Archbishop of Canterbury, the senior clergy member of the Church of England who failed to carry out his morale duty, it is EVERYTHING to with religion in the UK as this guy sets the moral compass for the whole CofE. From inside and outside of religion, he should have had the humanity and decency to report it, but if you throw in the religious element, he also had the DUTY to report it.

What else has he hidden? How many clergy members have been 'moved on' because of allegations of abuse? I wonder if he's made peace with his god?
