Are we pessimistic or realistic

I know this board represents a fair cross section of our fans and i was wondering whether compared to other fans people thought we were pessimistic or realistic. If you look at the general consensus on the forum nobody is at all convinced we are guaranteed top four this year and whenever it looks like we are going after a player we are convinced they are going to go else where etc.

If you compare that to other fans, united fans having lost one of the best keepers to have played for them and one of their most influential midfielders are convinced title number 20 is a formaility for them, arsenal fans think their 2 best players potentially wanting out is a mere blip and a trophy is all but assured, liverpool fans are convinced that they have the best player in the premier league and not only will they easily get back in the top four but a title is within reach and when presented with the rumour that they could put a bid in for adam johnson were assured that he would join them cos they are liverpool, spurs fans are convinced that last season was just a blip and with the addition of adebayor who at no point can they see not wanting to play for them top four is assured.

So i was thinking are we pessimistic naturally given everything thats gone before and we cant break that cycle or do the other fans have a ridiculous and unwarranted view of their clubs.

For the record i think we have an excellent squad but i am never confident about city, i think its an inbuilt thing just wondering what other views were

You should be confident in City now, the "Typical City" days are over, Typical City would of beat United in the semi final & than got beat by Stoke in the final. Also we're getting a bit of luck what we deserve!

The reality is there would be no excuse to miss out on top 4 this year. No more 'typical City' or pessimism, the squad we have already is one of the best in Europe, add to that Ageuro and Nasri and we have an array of talent to call upon which the Madrid's, Barca's and United's would love to have. Top 4 is now the least we should expect.

In my view BM is not a fair cross section...Often at games the attending fans have a very opposite view than BM.

I consider myself to be very realistic. Some people might think I'm pessimistic but I'm usually pretty spot on with estimations with how well City do. Last season I knew were weren't good enough for a title challenge, we didn't make a challenge, and I fully understood why. I think everyone who played for us last season will be better next, and we have strengthened (Clichy... Aguero next HOPEFULLY!) but we will still have many faults and if we fail to win a trophy I will fully understand why (still a freshly put together group of players; who's to say any new lads will fit in or find form?; we'll still have our inconsistencies, maybe not as many as last season but they'll be there; I reckon it will be another 2 years before we're absolutely flying and will have ironed everythig out; plus you should never expect to win a trophy every season no matter how good you are look at Arsenal and Real Madrid!).

I'm just enjoying every minute! You can tell the ones who had silly expectations because they're the ones who are always moaning after a game on here - and they wont be enjoying every minute. I feel sorry for these people! Never mind though, I'm the only one that matters to me really and I'm loving it!

As for Bluemoon-MCFC as a whole, I find that I disagree with about 75% of the posters on here! But then I feel better about my opinions as when you hear people at the games, and the fans as a whole with their reactions, they usually fall in line with what I think. ie. the support for Mancini...

As for fans of other clubs, I find the bigger the club the more deluded and full of shit their support is! Rags, Liverfools and Arseholes are completely full of horse shit! I'm finding that the bigger we get, the more wankers we're attracting too!

All internet football forums tend to be a little reactionary, and BM is no exception the anonymity of the key board allows people to type things that they would never say in real life.

As rule all the City fans I know have in the past (me included) been pessimistic, due to all the false dawns we have had, but things are changing, I am a lot more optimistic

I love you Ducky!!!!

By golly you are right I would never say that to your face in real life.

xx

ps I have been thinking we will win the league for the last 30 years and I see no reason to stop that for next season lol

Been watching City from 1961 but solidly for 46 years. Last season I just kept wondering when the bubble would burst, then at half time away at Everton, I realised even though we eventually got beat Man City had arrived, no rollercoaster football,no gung ho sexy football, just totally controlled and thoughtful play. We may still be a little rough around the edges but trust me, we are on the way up. Put me in the optimistic camp.

This -) (not 61 but 75)

The first 1/2 hour of this game I was thinking how much more comfortable we are these days. then when Silva went off i realised that we rely so much on one or two key players. The rags can have Shrek, Berbaflop and/or Nani missing and they cope just fine maybe even better. The rags are so far a head of us in terms of preparation for the coming season and the community shield might be a bit too early for us.
