Are You Doing Anything To Protest About The Latest Season Ticket Price Increase?

He has ever right to woman.

It's his money.

So do I.

So does any City fan.

If you are happy continually paying £30 a season price rises, for the last 10 seasons, or whatever you pay, fair enough. Good for you.

But many of us aren't.

The sooner you understand that and get your head around it, the better. We don't all live in the everything is OK, Oakie World.

As I'm not happy about another rise, I have decided to drop the cup schemes.

Alternately I could scramble and relocate to the £319 seats, if there are any left? Then City would lose £365. Like 100's if City fans have done because their season tickets had become too expensive. Are they any different to the moaners? My mates did just that, for that reason. My mates don't lie. They don't moan either, like me. Coincidence?

Obviously while the football under Pep is brilliant, somebody will know doubt buy my seat. Great atmosphere. Shit view. Just standing. Not sitting. Careful before you buy.

Everyone is happy again?
Well I for one am certainly very happy and even if I wasn`t a pensioner I would still happily pay top $ for the same seat I`ve been in for years.
People have the option to go to whichever games suits their pockets.I have never been a member of the FA and League Cup games. However I too am thinking about ditching the CL games for no other reason than the Tournament is bent and the amount of time I fucking spend on the M56 and the Parkway is ridiculous on Match Day Evenings.
I will probably enjoy my nights out watching the games in my local knocking back a few pints of Guinness.
I will reiterate ... it has nothing to do with any form of protest about how my Club is run.

look people, stop having a go with other fans on here, if it is to much for your season card next year, give it up and get a citizens card and go to games you want to see.
everything goes up, petrol beer fags food gas lecky you just have to go with the flow and cut your cloth to what you can afford.
I havnt decided what I am going to do yet, but it will be my last year for the season card, it isn't the price its the fucking changes every game, sunday morning sunday afternoon sat morning sat eve Monday night and now fucking sat night, sometimes it is a pain in the arse to get to games, so might just get a citizens card and hope for a few sat 3-00 ko

You missed Friday night
This is one subject I was hoping wouldn't appear in this thread because the PL and Television companies treat all supporters with total disdain when it comes to rearranged for tv fixtures

Seems the average increase is about 3 percent. I can't recall what mine cost last year so I will go with that. Meanwhile inflation is about 2.5 percent. Seems about right to me

I lied. We didn't moan at first. Bar those forced out of the NS.

We took the first few price rises on the chin. We knew they were coming. Along with corporate area's etc.
I'd been saying for a while that the revenue from standard matchday tickets was too low and that prices would increase once demand did. It's difficult to compare like with like as the rags have a bigger stadium and mix of premium/standard facilities but from what I know or have estimated, I reckon they average around £600 per standard seat at a rough guess. With us I reckon it's about £550, maybe a bit less. That includes all adult and concession seats. We have a range of cheaper seats they don't have although we do have the 93:20 areas. Also our CL & FA Cup schemes aren't mandatory, meaning you'd expect that they'd get a higher average price per seat from their season ticket holders.

So we're not out of line with them I'd say which should mean there is no real need for rises.

If it really is about inflation and running costs as City have stated(come on!), please explian to me why those costs can't be saved by the club via reducing expenditure within the club over a season. As a club are we that flipent with money every season to have to claw back £900,000 via continual season ticket and matchday ticket price rises? We obviously are.
Talking about costs, I've been looking at these over the last few years & they've gone up significantly. In 2015 our revenue was £353m, wages were £194m (55% of T/O) and Other Operating Expenses were £77m (which is 22% of T/O)

Last year revenue was £476m, which is up 35% on 2015. Wages were £264m, which is about in line so that's OK (and it was a 13 month year meaning costs were probably incurred while revenue wasn't earned). Other Operating Expenses have shot up to £106m, which is a 38% increase. In terms of numbers therefore Revenue is up £123m while those two main costs are up £100m. On the surface that doesn't seem so bad but I'd question why Other Operating Expenses are up so much. It's not like we're playing significantly more games.

Also, the younger players on the verge of the first team are probably on £10-20k a week. Would it really kill us to let one or two go if we don't think they're going to make it? That would bring in the required revenue.

Thats one of the biggest turn off for fans nowadays and now we even have these ridiculous Friday Eveing and late Saturday evenings.
I`ve said it for years and I`ll say it again "I blame the Chairmen of all PL Teams. It is about time they as a group told Sky to fuck right off and they will dictate the KO times and moreso they will take better care of their fans"
If it comes to a crunch perhaps these Chairmen should call Skys bluff. After all there are plenty of other TV Companies out there who will step in.

Great post Mr Chapo.

We all probably think the same.

You can't criticize Sheikh Mansour or the club on that front.

But in the desperation to drive revenue, the people running the club seem to have given scant regard to how much they can continue to squeeze out of the fans.

It's fair to say the people at City are pretty clued up. Professionals in their fields. Commercial Directors, Corporate Directors, etc. You know what I mean. They will have spread sheets and graphs on their laptops, showing at the press of a key how revenue is climbing on all fronts.

But surely they must also be in tune with the general feeling of the fans? They must read BM and other social media sites. They must know City fans aren't happy about more price rises. They knew this reaction was coming, but they still went ahead and increased prices again. Do they care? I don't know. Are they doing their jobs? Yes. Is that the only thing that matters? Probably.

Khaldoon has said and promised lots of things over the years. And many have been delivered by him. He also promised to listen to the City fans, and to never take them for granted. After all, we are the club, he said, in so many words. Perhaps it's just me, but those words are sounding somewhat hollow now in my opinion.

Cheers.

When the club was taken over I knew if that takeover was successful prices would rise but I was still happy for all the reasons I stated. Thank God it worked. Prior to the takeover? Two league titles, four fa cups, one European cup winners cup and two league cups in over a hundred years. After the takeover? Three league titles, one fa cup and three league cups in ten years. I am happy with that. Actually I am bloody ecstatic with that lol!

I hope someone does listen and we keep prices as low as possible in certain areas of the ground. For the well heeled they can have their tunnel clubs and executive boxes.

How am I going to raise the £11 increase in my season card? That amounts to 53 pence per match!

I suppose I will have to buy two fewer of the mini bottles of wine at season. That will cover most of it!
