Are You Doing Anything To Protest About The Latest Season Ticket Price Increase?

The season ticket prices are precisely why many fans buy a season card and then don't attend every game resulting in thousands of empty seats.

Those that are moaning are a bunch of ungrateful b*stards. The truth is if you don't like it don't renew. Your place will very easily be filled.

Not that old BM rumour chestnut, explaining the reason for so many empty (season ticket) seats.

Let me get this right. City fans buy a season ticket and don't go, leaving *1000's* of empty seats at PL matches. OK. *1000's* of empty seats at PL matches? 100's maybe? Depending on the opposition.

But not in the cup games, via the cup scheme. Nobody wants my seat for those games, bar the latter stages of the CL. Even then tourist and day trippers take up the slack, while season ticket holders stay away. Obviously put off by.....?

What about the unsold PL matchday seats. Why aren't City fans snapping those available seats up? Again, depending on the opposition. After all, it is the best football all of us have ever seen at City.

Any ideas?

Whenever I look at the planner before any home game there generally seems to be no seats available at all or maybe the odd one here and there. And this is the situation whether it is a so called big team or little team.

The vast majority of empty seats in League matches are those sold as season tickets. There are large number in the Family Stand, particularly for midweek matches. There a very few empty seats in the top of the third tier of the CB and East Stands.

Please explain how cheaper season ticket prices will do anything about that. It seems to me that if anything they are priced to cheap so as to make it worthwhile for someone to buy who cannot make a lot of matches. The seat next to me is empty as often as it is filled.

The different attendance is hardly surprising. For a League Cup, FA Cup and European match, there are vastly more tickets to shift. All bar the FA Cup will be midweek which deters those with young children and those who travel long distances. City have had so few home draws in the FA Cup recently, it is difficult to judge. Only one home draw in the Guardiola era produced a near sell out against Burnley. Even Wolves in the League Cup attracted around 51,000.

It is hardly surprising that it takes some time to build up support. City were averaging 20,000 to 25,000 crowds in the early 1990s and only had a 30,000 to 35,000 capacity stadium into the early 2000s.

Season ticket prices are likely to be hiked up unless the stadium is expanded when a price freeze will probably apply for a season or two.

Back from the Dentist after a scale and polish. :-)

Wow! That's some character assasination. Talk about making it personal. :-? Oakie know's more about me than I know about myself. ;-)

I won't character assisnate you. We all know what you are like. Your posts and reputation go before you.

Wrong!

I don't constantly whinge about City. Just sometimes. That's allowed outside Oakie's World.

You don't know me from Adam. Don't even try.

Read my posts properly. Take off your blue tinted Oakie glasses.

I have thanked Sheikh Mansour constantly for what he has done for the club. And the club. There are some very good people at City who I have met over the years. They are genuine and have the club and the fans at heart. But they are told do a job and they do it.

I didn't spend 4 years taking picture's of the CFA and the SS expansion to moan about the club. I can honestly say I wasn't miserable during those 4 years of taking and posting those picture''s on BM.

I have met City officials at meetings who are trying to improve the atmosphere at City. I have thanked them for that personally.

I posted last night that City are going to bring back a form of Points of Blue meetings. Etc.

Back to you. I take it you mean the Media watch thread and the articles I post from the MUEN and News Now Man City?

How long is the thread? How many posts? How many posters? That's some going to single me out.

Let's go back.

PSG, CL. The moaners moaned about the cost of the tickets.

Because of the moaners moaning, your season ticket was frozen the following season. No doubt you thought sod it and you paid the extra £20-£30 anyway?

If the moaners hadn't moaned, there would have been another season ticket price rise.

That's what moaning get's you sometimes.

Perhaps moaning also get's you a 3% increase instead of a 5% or higher increase?

Just out of interest, did you sign the safe standing petition? It reached 110,000 signatures. I did.

Because of those signatures, and because those people wouldn't take no for an answer, the safe standing bill is now going to be debated in parliament.

And on the off chance the Government and the Minister change their minds, safe standing and cheaper matchday tickets will become available. That includes at City, who support safe standing.

The things is, if you don't moan, complain, or make a stance every now and again, nothing ever changes. If everybody was like you, nothing would ever change.

Anyway, enough about me and you. We must be boring everyone to death.

Let me offer you an olive branch.

If you are ever in SS lower, come on the concourse behind block 115, where I'll meet you, shake your hand, and buy you a beer, and we can discuss this topic. :-)

Ignore the happy clappers @jrb.

There are people on here who'd suck cock if someone walked up to them with a City badge on and told them they worked in the City shop.

Thankfully there are plenty of City fans who support you on this and do care about the fact that tickets have gone up 10 out of 11 years, and hopefully when the club sees how many people fuck off the cup schemes and see how bad the atmosphere's become, they might rethink what 'customers' they want.

I suspect the owners aim was to increase ticket prices until they are comparable to our 'rivals' in the North West. Rather than do it as a huge increase in one go, they have done it with smallish increases over several years. Hopefully, now that this has pretty much been achieved, we will see a slow down in any future increases.

Went to the Giants game Saturday night here in SFO, $14.50 for a pint!!!! Food well won’t go there... great to see a win over the dodgers but we don’t know we have been born this season. Can’t wait to get home for Sunday!

Not saying you aren’t right but regardless of what you think of the ticket prices, the people at our club who make these decisions aren’t stupid. If there isn’t the demand they wouldn’t put up prices. It’s really that simple.

They’ve obviously looked at the figures, looked at the waiting list for season cards, and decided they can squeeze a bit more money out of us.

If the demand isn’t there then why would they put prices up?

This whole thread comes across as synthetic rage. This would no doubt have been posted even if the prices had gone up by 1% or even if they had been frozen.
It’s almost worse the lower they up them, because what’s the fucking point?
